Lemonier was great and absolutely deserved the MVP. You cannot replace his on field presence or leadership.

That said Tre Clark (true freshman) was awesome as well: 8 tackles, 5 solo, with a sack and a TFL. Will be awesome to see what kind of player he becomes.

I reckon this will help in a pretty clear way. I don't think you'll get a bunch of four stars, but definitely you have to think some of the higher end three stars will take notice is my thought.

Was at the game tonight. Happy for the whole program.

I was real happy Lemonier was named MVP. The dude totally left it on the field tonight. He was playing hurt most of the game. He was taped up heavy at halftime and trying to stay loose on the sidelines whenever LU had the ball. Towards the very end of the game he struggled to make his way toward the medical table. He was in obvious pain and just stretched out part way on it. You knew he had given everything he had. I hope he finds some more football to play after tonight.

What a defensive performance. All the usual suspects showed up that could have derailed us like muffed punts missed kicks shanked punts and a couple of bucks worst pics of his career but the defense just strapped it on and brought the heat all game. The front 7 Scruggs all played incredible and the dbs held up in single coverage and made plays on the ball when they had to.

We all thought it would happen one day but I'm still stunned it happened this soon. For one of the first times I really felt like coach freeze maybe felt like he could see himself here to build this thing. You could feel the pride and joy I'm doing it in his words.

What a senior class. These guys brought it and couldn't go out much better than they did.

Finally, docs vision just took another big step toward realization!!

My favorite quote from Manson's notes he just shared
Jon Manson wrote:Many criticized Liberty for making the move to the FBS without first having sustained success at the FCS. Guess those people are wrong.
Tells us how you really feel!!!

As a side note, I was one of those people. Its becoming clearer every day that I was wrong. I'm so happy I was wrong and that Liberty continues to make good decisions to do this the right way.

What a great day to be a Flame!

Liberty would be a better fit for a FBS conference than most all Sun Belt, Conference USA, and AAC teams. LU can play football, basketball, baseball and softball. Where as most other non power 5 schools are average in football, and bad in all other sports, overall.

I was one of those people. Still am but not so much. Given the information at the time and the history of grandiosity without substance I’d take the same position again. This is a great day for LU athletics. If some want to celebrate it by saying “ I told you so” then it say it’s more about them then LU

Haha guys lighten up. It's a good day to be Flames fan. I am glad we are having success and am glad I was wrong. I guess if it were anybody else but manson making the remark I'd be put off by it but I know the place Manson is coming from.

I know his context and it’s fine.

Lemonier was a BEAST. The Defensive held strong time and again. The venue was great and the organization of the bowl seemed well constructed. Met so many awesome LU fans. GREAT TIME! GREAT WIN! GREAT FANS!

Three other guys who were locked in and played the best games of their careers were Vincent Elefante, Ben Alexander and Tyren Dupree. It is hard to point out anyone on the defense that didn't play well. I do not say this lightly but I love great defensive performances like that way more than great offensive performances. Just something old school football and manly about it. 8)

Seriously Kudos to the entire defense man that was a thing of beauty to watch. Posty I think said it in the Chat but i'll reiterate it here. I am so thankful for what Buckshot did for our program and I wish him the best. That being said, I'm looking forward to getting a QB in this system that can consistently play with poise under pressure.

Best defensive effort EVER for LU. Fans were the best I have ever seen.
Props to the GS fans. Saw them all over town, all of them were very kind. Had a couple groups congratulate us after the game. Very classy.
Coaching staff did a tremendous job preparing for the game.
4 more years. :)

Best defensive performance I've seen from a LU team since I've started following them. Kudos to Symons too! great game plan.

As for next year, I really can't help to think how much better we will be, esp with Malik under center.
