So obviously hes supposed to be pretty fast and what not... where would he most likely play barring he comes here and he starts?

First off ECU has never been D1aa , in fact we have been playing major college football since the early 1960's, and have had lots of success despite short memories of some. Many top 25 wins, even a top 10 finish, as well as other top 25 finishes. Believe it or not but we have the most BCS wins in the last 10 years of any non-BCS program at 14, and have averaged as high as 42k fans a game (37k this year). 50k people have seen a game in our stadium. I notice your comment earlier about us being not a real D1a, got a good laugh..
SuperJon wrote:My fault, I thought you guys moved up with Marshall and the likes of them. I'm from NC, I have a lot of friends at ECU and know a lot of alum, I can't believe I screwed that up so bad. It's ok we stunk it up a couple of years ago. I don't fault people for forgetting us, although I think the ship has been righted the past two years. Anyway so what are you guys thinking about the basketball game. We changed coaches and lost a lot of transfers last year and ended up stinking it up, but we have 10 new players this year and looks like things are headed in the right direction. I think we played very decent in the two games I have seen. 2-1 with wins over Morgan St and @UNCG, and an overtime loss @ Richmond. I understand you guys have a real scorer at PG.

You know he was an elite 11 QB coming out of high school and one of the top recruits if not the very top we ever signed and had offers to places like Miami as I recall.
As for Paul, life in Lynchburg didn't work out the way anyone wanted. But he's a great guy and I expect him to do well in coaching.
I was covering him during his tryout for the Texans and he really impressed them with his arm. Unfortunately his body of work kept him from a getting a contractl.

ECUpirate is correct that right now they receiove a nice chunck of change from CUSA. But those contracts were built on Louisville & Cincy being in the league. The next contract will be nowhere near as attractive.
C-USA lands $11.3 million dealThat as well as more bowls and higher paying bowls since those guys left. Including this week we will have had 9 national televised games this year a bowl and championship game are still possible as well. Things aren't so bad as is percieved in this new conference, and that's why I don't see us or any of the other teams leaving unless it's for a BCS conference, and lets facte it the Big East is the only option there.
Conference USA announced Tuesday it has made six-year TV rights deals with ESPN and College Sports Television that will begin this fall. The conference will receive a combined $11.3 million a year, the same amount ESPN paid under an expiring contract. But ESPN's rights fee drops 68%, to $3.65 million annually, for prime picks of football and men's and women's basketball games. CSTV will show those sports, plus other events, said CSTV president Brian Bedol
