Muscle memory is something that is showing itself in our thumping instead of tackling. The more you practice something the more it is going to show in your performance. The defense played great last week! This week was a different story. They got some turnovers and got to the qb some as well but there were WAY to many BIG plays and the BIG running plays were due to poor tackling. Kudos to ISU's running backs as they ran hard but we made them look elite. I still have hope our defense will correct the ship and show up like they did vs Troy.

In regards to where we are during this inaugural FBS season. . . I am pumped! 4-3 and no doubt 5-3 had we already played NSU. Realistically we could have and should have beaten NMSU and that would have us at 6-2! How many of us would have predicted that???????? 6-2 going into UMASS. I had us 5-3 going into UMASS. I am really looking forward to the end of this season and how we finish. 7 wins is absolutely doable and should happen. UMASS got beat by Coastal today 24-13 and with that, I feel really good about what we are going to do to them.

Yeah its clear that the no tackling policy for practice his negatively effecting us on the field.

According to some on this board Turner Gill is open to making changes so I'm sure a change is coming

I would agree that the tackling has been poor; however it is more than that. Out NGs and DTs have to do a better job of holding their ground and our LBs have got to be more sound. Specifically, they need to be in the right place and aggressively attack their gaps without overpursuing. Far too many tackles are being made by our DBs.

That said, the outside guys did a nice job rushing the passer and creating pressure, particularly Lemonier.

Finally, 4-3 is much better than I expected, and as said we could easily be 5-2. A lot to be excited about if the D can tighten up.
