The PC answer for Calvert has earned a chance to see what he can do in a while game not limited series.
For a FRESHMAN sure seemed to have command of the playbook or real good knowledge of the Game plan

And Masha's decisions were better? He made no decisions other than to go to his primary receiver every time.
Nice attempt at changing the subject but I never said Masha's decisions were better. Both of our QB's were awful today.

Seeing as how i I know u dont know, but how do u know that the last INT was on him, as rhat ball placement was on the sideline, and he was also throwing to another freshman in AGG

You not being impressed is you not wanting to be wrong, but it's om mayne you and BJ can chill and have a drink together
To be honest, I'm not even sure what you're saying. Please correct your grammar. Not even trying to be rude...it just doesn't make sense.

On that note, he's not going to miraculously improve because of your personal connection to him. Just stop with the bias please.
I have no bias for or against, I just know a little about football and evaluating talent, at different levels. You say I have a bias for him are you sure youb ont have one AGAINST him.

I'm sure you know exactly what im saying, your saying he didnt play well, what game were u watching, he put us in position to win and actually put us ahead minus the penalty, they blitzed him heavy no doubt, but he handles it very well. I'm saying yes he threw a pic but seems ur putting that on him, I waa saying how do u know that we didn't run right route. Loom where DB pics ball at on the sideline vs where was at

Yes I'll admit typing on a phone is bad

Regarding JSU next week, I think the gloom and doom is short sighted Whatever bad things you want to say about how this team has played the last 2 seasons, one thing that is crystal clear is that they are MUCH better in the friendly confines of the Bill JSU is obviously a quality program, but they weren't very impressive yesterday, and had to come back to get a 1 point win at home against Coastal (and the beach chickens played the entire second half with their 4th string QB) Looks like JSU will also be without their star WR against us He was a difference maker against CCU before re-injuring his foot

The argument can be made that this is the week that we should hand over the reins to Calvert. He is the future of the program and now might be the time to let him get an entire week of practice as the #1 and a full game before the conference schedule begins. These are the things which define a coach-tough decisions where there may be a conflict between your head and your heart.

I think the team has shown they can compete against whoever they play against. The talent is there, it just takes a tick to come together. It's has done that nicely on defense.

I'm actually leaning towards an LU win against Jacksonville State.

You don't possess more football knowledge than everyone in the world, or even anyone in this discussion board. Assuming that you're "knowledge" of the game gives you some inside scoop to know without a doubt that Calvert is great, is ridiculous. You don't know more than anyone else here. Settle down young one.

Secondly, why do you keep bringing up the interception? I didn't single that play out. Why do you insist on proving that that one play wasn't his mistake? Seems like even you have some hidden insecurities about him.

You've been on Calvert more than his girlfriend. Don't pretend like you don't have bias.

I don't have any personal relation to anyone on the team...I just want to see a competitive squad. With the exception of one long pass and a few runs, our offense looked awful yesterday...again. The right QB isn't on this team and our gameplans continue to be vanilla.

Saying the right QB isn't on the team is taking it a little too far. Calvert is the guy of the future and is going to be really good.

You could say we don't currently have a quarterback ready to play but to discount Calvert's future is going too far.

We can definitely play with anyone at home. I think JSU struggling vs Coastal yesterday is the worst thing for us. They'll be more focused on executing than had they ran over Coastal in an easy game.

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous. I think Bucky is the future for sure. I also think he can pick up on what he needs to very quickly If they stay with him he will grow by leaps and bounds during the season

The doom and gloom has a caveat....and that is whether we can get the Offense and Kicking games going. Sure we CAN compete, there is no doubt, but the O and kicking game is not effective or consistent. We do not demonstrate in performance what we are capable of. Often times that separates those in the playoffs from those that aren't. There are teams with less talent that find a way to win and go to postseason play. As PH said....the other units have to find "that tick" like the D has found. They are bringing it on the field, every game!

Additionally, I absolutely agree we can play with anyone at home, but that won't get us to the playoffs or where we want to be as a program. We have to win road games.

I was told repeatedly not to worry about the kicking game. That the PK was every bit as good as the one who graduated. I don't buy it but I was told it repeatedly When the QB situation gets resolved the offense should be fine

I still think you are being overly harsh with Probert He has missed a total of 2 kicks in 3 games, and has done a good job on kickoffs Not quite as high a % of touchbacks as we are used too, but not bad, and no long returns

I haven't said anything since after the Tech game. Although I did point out there was a missed FG last night. I'm not gonna pile on the kid. I am all set up to be proved wrong and would welcome it. You won't get into a forbidden v VAGolf argument with me!

On further investigation, it turns out that Probert's 37 yard attempt last night was actually blocked That doesn't mean it wasn't his fault He could have kicked it too low

That was a game changer I think. I' no expert, but I do believe if Probert hits that field goal we are only down 2 with around 5 minutes to go and maybe Calvert doesn't have to press so much to make a play. We can lean on the running game and burn some clock and set up a game winning field goal or something.

That could be true if their struggles against Coastal were due to a lack of focus I'm not sure they were

first, never said once I had more knowledge than the world, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt I have more than you, so take it how you want to. From the beginning all I ever said was that with even before ANY of this I had seen and heard about his abilities. Now just because I don't coach on the team don't mean I don't know anything, and then as practices and camp began it was slowly starting to come out (his performance). True practices supposedly don't hold water but then again they say what you do in practice is how you play.

I don't have a personal relationship with him, but I know a couple of kids on this team including MINES, as an FYI. So I am around a tad bit more than most. My bias is towards the best personnel on the team regardless of year. Freshman doesn't mean you cant play at this level, especially when you see it at a lot of other schools. And if you know anything like you claim, then all it takes is a few long passes and a few runs to win a game. The first half was awful, second half was better, the TEAM looked and moved better in the second half, game plan as a whole I agree was a tad vanilla, so that we agree. But ask yourself sir, why would the game plan be so vanilla with your starter at QB. The offense is making the defense have to work so much harder than it should.

What's funny was even the announcers said the same thing about the QB play from one person to the other and they don't have ANY affiliation whatsoever. Or would you queation an ex NFL great in Chad Johnson who said this kid waz special after watching him also.
