You guys are being too careful and measured. Build it and they will come! (hopefully) :pbjtime
How'd that work out in Tampa and Miami?

In honor of The Holy Fathers visit I was putting that blight on someone other than a Saint.

Fantastic.

You can go to a game and not get bent over by stupid high ticket prices.

My dad purchased Lightning-Rangers playoff tickets, flew from NJ to Tampa and back and still spent less than he would just driving to MSG.

Now, if you're also including the broken saucer known as the Trop in St. Pete, I invite you to go experience a game there. It's like you're watching a baseball game on flattened putt-putt grass inside a building that reminds you of a large DMV. My wife loves baseball but will not go back.

:dontgetit Not even close. Building a stadium in hopes that people will show up is something that has rarely if ever worked out. The previous wave of new baseball stadiums are proof of that. The ones in Tampa and Miami are further proof.
So, not really.
What I mean is, do we keep winning, thus leading to more people coming, thus leading to expanding to accommodate those people, or do you expand first, which leads to more people coming, which (apparently, although I personally don't think so) leads to more wins?

Sellouts and standing room only are a good problem to have. Appreciate the process and don't try to move too quickly. The best way to kill momentum is to open a half empty stadium.

I know exactly what you mean. It's a nonsense comparison. There is no proof empirically that just by adding seats means you will add attendance.
My, how SMGT has fallen.....

Exactly. Expand as needed, not before.

He wasn't SMGT. We have enough pulling us down. Don't lump him in with us too.

Homecomings premium seating has already sold out. That's a pretty good sign of a decent crowd. Montana didn't sell out til week of. I'm impressed with the uptick in ticket sells. Keep it up and we will expand. I'd personally like to see a lower level bowl on visitors side with the band placed there. WVU has the band in the end zone and it sounds great. Plus doing it this way wouldn't add too many seats. Maybe 5-6k? Don't want to add too many too quick.

To get a good crowd against Presbyterian, I see them offering along with Military discount, a faculty discount, and a really nice family package. Id expect 18-19k at least.

Homecoming will be tricky. Many in my circle of friends have decided to bail on homecoming and try to come to Coastal instead. That may just be my circle but I'd wonder how many people will make that decision if they can only come in for one game.

That is valid. Coastal would definitely be the bigger game.

I think it's the nature of the opponent. If you're going to come to a cold night game, would you rather it be against Coastal or Kennesaw State?

From a strictly football perspective, I see you working. But HMO & Co. do a bang up job making HC weekend a great ecperience for the whole family beyond the game. That shouldn't be discounted just because of the football opponent.

I agree they do a great job. They got saddled with a horrible opponent in a night game at the end of October. That isn't their fault.

I come back for football, not the other events. People who want the social aspect of things will choose homecoming regardless of who we play. That's why it'll be interesting to see the crowds. We've never had two home games with better opponents than homecoming in the same year before.

This Saturday would have been awesome. As your children get older, the other stuff begins to have a bigger impact on the decision to head to Lynchburg.
