I will make the drive up from Raleigh with 3-4 of my closest friends. I don't particularly care for the Thursday night game, but it will be worth the national exposure.
I will just have to make sure to remember it is Thursday night. I guess I will have to play close attention to my pill box, which also doubles as my day of the week monitor. :)

I figured it wouldn't really resonate with you guys, I'm just saying that they will have some things to make adjustments for with this game being on a Thursday night now. If this was say...the opener, then it probably wouldn't be that big of a deal from that side of it. I guess it won't be that big of a problem since this was announced now during band camp as opposed to say...October.

But this is a big deal and likely has playoff berth on the line. I'd expect folks to go out of their way to make this happen unless our season had already gone off the rails.
SLY agreeing with :flamingdevil :flamingdevil :flamingdevil We have proof :fineprint

ESPN News per the liberty website.
It´s ESPNews. I think a few posters just used ESPN in a generic sense.

Lots of people take 3 vacation days before Thanksgiving to get a full week off while using just the 3 vacation days. I'll just have to move around my vacation days around a bit so I can drive up from Charlotte Thursday afternoon and drive back Friday.

I'm pumped already. Would be awesome if we could enter the game with a chance to obtain several home playoff games with a win.

I'm starting to feel kind of sick. Something tells me it is going to really hit me the Friday before Thanksgiving.
The only thing that would potentially hold me back is if we were already in the playoffs by the time CCU rolls into town. If that's the case, I might be more inclined to use my limited resources the following weekend so I could be there for the first home playoff game.
WAY too early for that discussion, but you get the idea.

BJ, I know a couple of band students who actually hoped and prayed that we WOULDN'T make the playoffs several years back (when we probably should have) because of their Thanksgiving travel plans. At that point, this band alum stopped caring what the band was worried about. If they're that wrapped up in themselves that they can't see the bigger picture, then they need to rethink their position as representatives of the school.

I concur phoenix as that was the same issue when I was in band (cdbilton would probably agree with me). I don't know why the band didn't make the trip to Harrisonburg last year, but I do hope that the students realize the commitment they make as representatives of the university and that they can go with the Flames as far as they go in the postseason this year

There are always people like that. It was the same way in '97 with band people rooting for an LU loss to Hofstra to keep us out of the playoffs...they got their wish. :(

But, there were also people like me in the band that wanted the best for the team. Actually, I viewed free transportation and lodging for two road games each year as a perk!!

There are a lot of band people and cheerleaders that really want the team to do well.

I actually think Thursday will be easier on the band, cheerleaders, and students. A Saturday game, some would have left...

THURSDAY WILL BE BETTER! Plus it's my birthday!!

I'm ready!!

Back in the heyday of LU basketball, think Aluma, Nwoso, Hildebrand, etc. I would drive from Raleigh to the Burg to watch games on a weeknight and go to work the next day.............. no problems. The Vines had the biggest crowds they have ever had back then, it was almost full every game. Winning makes the difference.
I am sure that we will have an overflow crowd for this game, maybe break an attendance record if it is not raining. Especially if it is for the BS championship and auto-bid. CCU will have punched their ticket already because of their cupcake schedule, but I suspect we will have to win to get in. Looking forward to it.

But will your kids.

I think my oldest will.
Unless someone is sick we should all be there. My wife might leave early with son though because she works early on Fridays.

That is a good start/sign anyway. :)
