2) You are correct that 5'8" 200 isn't big but it's hard to hit something you can't catch

I don't have a problem with you thinking your team will do well. That's fine, but some of your statements are head scratchers :dontgetit .

It's the equivalent to some team saying they're going to hold the 1990's version of Nebraska to under 100 yards on the ground when they average 400+. And no I am not comparing CCU to Nebraska.
I just hope we can stay on the field with you guys, you are ranked #1 and all. I see CCU winning 42-17. Trusting we can just make you guys break a sweat. Don't think we have a chance at all.

I can think of one time when Liberty faced a QB who did not throw many picks: 2012 vs. Stony Brook (Kyle Essington)...60 minutes later, Liberty had 4 picks and a 28-14 victory (they had a pretty decent running back too...)

Exactly, the Furman QB is a freshman (he had three three picks in a loss to VMI  ). In addition, Coastal's standout safety, Richie Sampson, suffered a season-ending injury against Presbyterian. I like our offense vs. their defense, but our defense has to create some turnovers and/or make stops.

That's a really good idea!

All of our MLBs are poor pass defenders. I would not play any of them if we are in nickel or dime packages (which we are going to be in many times on Sat.), unless it is clearly a running situation.

Yeah, I noticed that vs CSU. What was up w/ that? Especially with CSU killing us on the ground, you want him in there. We're a different defense w/ him on the field.

A few defensive thoughts:

I would Blitz on every play, sending a different player each snap.
Defensive line needs to disrupt the play, whether run or pass.
If linebackers or DBs are making majority of tackles, that means yards are being gained.

Richie may or may not be out for the year. Depends if he had the surgery or is still doing therapy. I haven't heard yet.

As for the best qb we faced....overall it was the A&T qb IMO, but he is much more of a running QB. Best passing qb was probably the Florida A&M qb....ok I can't even say that with a straight face lol  Mike Quinn from Elon was decent. Nothing great.

Glad to see you back around here, Bob. Wish we were coming off a victory and could really run the smack.
Haha.

Yea, I think some CCU fans are disappointed you lost as well. I wasn't sure who to root for in that game other than the refs ;)

I love Sigmon, but post injury am I the only one who thinks he doesn't look like himself out there?

Maybe he is making some big tweaks to the schemes for Coastal. On defense, I think this would be a good thing. We cannot put same defense on field that we had this past Saturday.

We have faced Ross in practice every week...

Starting defenses generally spent most of practice against a scout team simulating the offense of the upcoming opponent. Same in reverse for the offense. I doubt your defensive starters have really practiced that much against Ross. How good is your 3rd string QB?

So was he paranoid his first entire season when practices were closed (as I recall)? Personally, I believe it is smart, he might be wanting to keep the game plan as secret as possible. Don't blame him a bit.
Maybe that cold weather in TN?

And you guys think we're obsessive? I chortle audibly.!

If we actually are the tenth best team in the nation (hypothetically), what does that mean if we still beat you, end your season, and move on to the playoffs? You act like you wouldn't want to be a top ten team.
