Every team has bad games on their schedules - look at other schedules like VT, UVA, etc... they play bad schools and their fans still fill the house. This isn't ideal, but I'm guessing was necessary to fill void of SB (Just guessing)Why can Coastal put together a schedule with without one non D1 and LU spends millions on a program with a sorry schedule? http://www.goccusports.com/sports/m-foo ... sched.html
I think we put to much value on our fans being educated. If the school builds it up they will come. I sat at basketball game the other night and listen to this whole group of guys behind me talking about Randolph - "Good team out of NC...should be a good test...pretty big school...think they play in the same conference of Davidson..." Wanted so bad to turn around and say - R-MWC...
We should win 74-0, and if you like to see touchdowns - you should enjoy this game...

Attendance would improve if we played some teams that would bring some fans with them. Other than Coastal and VMI, most teams bring no one, except a couple of parents.
We should stop playing D2 teams. If Duke can get Alabama to come to Durham, I think LU could get some better games at home.

A lot of those community colleges are jumping to 4 year level.
probably so

Though he only started one game in 2012, take one look at Brandon Apon in the 2013 spring practices and you’d know how big of a weapon he would be for the Flames in his senior season. He’s a big, athletic tight end, who has developed into a physical blocker and reliable receiving target. Flames Nation got a chance to catch up with him Tuesday after practice and get his thoughts on his senior campaign as he exits the program.
“I’ve been the type of guy who has just worked as hard as I can throughout my career here, and to get to my senior year and have my peers respect me in a certain way was humbling,” Apon told us. “It does take a certain amount of responsibility when you go into being a captain and leader of the offense. You feel the success and failures of the team fall on to your shoulders. It’s like the quote ‘with great power comes great responsibility’ and that’s so true.”

This week Liberty hosts Division II opponent Brevard College Tornadoes, a final tune-up before their showdown with #12/13 Charleston Southern. The Tornadoes eschew the passing game in favor of a triple-option threat, averaging only 7 pass attempts per game and featuring a myriad of running backs. Leading this ground and pound attack is a two-headed beast made of junior running backs, Jordan Ollis and Kelvin Jeter.
A ground and pound offense like Brevard’s can really wear a defense down, and their heavy use of Ollis shows that they like to emphasize the “pound.” Ollis may not be the quickest back on the team (4.2 ypc compared to second leading rusher Jeter’s 5.9), but he has the biggest work-load. He’s carried the ball 174 times for 738 yards, an average of 73.8 per game. He’s also the teams leading scorer, with 12 touchdowns on the year.

Liberty (6-4 overall, 3-1 Big South) steps out of conference play for the final time in 2013 as they face the Brevard Tornados (3-7). This is Brevard’s final game of their season.
Why Brevard can win this game
“This is their bowl game.” That’s what Coach Gill said earlier this week, and it makes sense. This is Brevard’s final game of the season, and they are playing their highest profile game of the season. The Tornados will come to Lynchburg looking to get the bad taste of a 3-7 season out of their mouths with an impressive showing.
