As a football, and Flames fan, who hardly ever gets to experience a home game from the stands, I wanted to post a few thoughts on the day. My first impression was, WOW...what an atmosphere for a home game. The traffic was heavy, yet the police and parking attendants were on top of their game and it was smooth sailing as far as getting to the game was concerned. Everyone had a smile on their face and made you feel happy to be there. Next thing I observed was the Midway with all the concessions and food choices...if you left there hungry it was nobody's fault but yourself. The ambassadors and event staff people were very professional and made us feel right at home in the stadium and we had great seats were we were located. I have to say one thing at this point about the concessions. The lines moved very quickly and the food and the people were very friendly and greeted us with a smile in the midst of what seemed a lot of confusion. I loved the game and even found myself chanting "third down and move those chains" which I normally don't do at games. I couldn't help myself. The military halftime show was also excellent and I must admit that I did have tears in my eyes during the moment of silence which I tried to hide but couldn't. In all, my wife and I and friends had a great time, watched a great game and capped off a great day with over fourteen thousand new friends that I felt a bond with. Thank you Jeff Barber, Chancellor Falwell, Kevin Keys and your entire staffs for helping to make our first home game experience one that I now have a better understanding of and won't forget. PS.... I haven't missed a home or away game this year, but I have other responsibilities on game day. If you missed yesterday home game, you missed an "Experience of a Lifetime."
