One of those was far and away better than any WR we had ever had. We lost our top 2 QB's, one of whom was a dual threat that was a good chunk of our offense. Remember, we couldn't run the ball at all last year with the exception of Mike Brown. The point of that statement is that our o-line wasn't good, and still isn't.We agree on something
This year, we have a freshman QB, a patchwork o-line, a possession/#3 WR playing the #1 role, and the #2 WR out for the year.
Woodrum has nothing to throw to anymore. We have zero deep threat. When you can't stretch the field, playing defense against you becomes pretty simple. Teams, even in the Big South, aren't stupid.
I do think the coaching has been mediocre, especially play calling. I hate the alternating of Holloway and Allen. Allen should be playing. Period.
We lost a ton and didn't get a ton to replace the talent. We weren't stacked we were thin after our starters last year. This year we were thinner yet, and then we had injury issues. It sucks and losing isn't acceptable, but lets not pretend that we are a very talented team.

He was canned in two years at Kansas and Weiss has not done better. Yes Chizik had (Super) Cam ….and we have whom? Snyder is a very rear breed as is Chip Kelly, Les Miles, Sabin, and Chris Peterson. Playing coach on a play-station or X-box isn’t the same as coaching a human being. To be successful the team needs to buy in completely.Considering I've got district titles under my belt in two sports (volleyball/basketball), and playoff appearances in the other two (football/lacrosse), I'll stick to knowing coaching from actually doing it. I don't even own a Playstation or Xbox so that's irrelevant.

To say that circunstances surrounding his time at Kansas are irrelevant is nieve at best. To not be in a practice, to not know the philosophy, to not know the atmosphere in the locker room and then to pass judgement passed on a handful of games is flat outEquinox wrote:Talent, desire, perpetration and the proper execution of a play will put a person, team, company in a position to be successful. Gill got 1 winning season out of Buffalo, left after a losing season, and the team returned right back to their position as bottom feeders. Gill, regardless of the circumstances surrounding the job, did a horrendous job at Kansas. Those teams gave up 40+ in 13 of his 24 games and won a whopping 5 contests. That's the same 5-19 record that Chizik put up at Iowa St. Gill seems like a great person, but there's a significant amount of evidence that says he's not a good head coach.

Hurricane Sandy and the Chanticleers called the shots today, as Coastal Carolina (4-4, 2-1) knocked off Liberty (3-5, 2-1) 36-12. In a windy and rain-soaked rivalry contest, Coastal stays alive in the Big South Championship race. Liberty has now lost 5 games in a season for the first time since 2006.http://www.luflamesnation.blogspot.com/ ... ap-up.html

If this "staff" can recruit another class like last years, we are deep into the playoffs with these guys (or in a bowl game?).
