We would've lost by more if Rocco was still our coach
Agree. They lost to Rice. Let me say that again... Rice. Liberty could beat Rice. They've got much more pressing issues.
Maybe we should play Rice.

Classy post. Thanks a lot and good luck to you the rest of the way, Sparty!

Injuries to really key players starting to affect season in a BIG way. Boyd is an All-Ameican OL. Our entire offense want he same. Sigmon and Bah - nuff said.

I thought the NSU staff made great adjustments at halftime. They came out showing hints they hadn't in the first - QB option out of shotgun, for example - and their guys really executed. Hats off to that staff.

No moral victory, for sure. NSU was much better than us in the second half. We lost to a team that is better, and it would have been out of reach if they had just hit extra points. Interesting looks from Flores in the second half, and from the stands, predictable. If #2 comes in Flores will fake, run, amd we bite. Their offense was almost rhythmic in the third and most of the fourth quarter- 4 to 5 yards a down. Oh well, after this game, expectations at Montana... let's just say that a 3 point loss would definitely be considered a moral victory. NSU has a good team; they seemed to be well coached and pretty disciplined. Didn't hear Giddens' name that much.

Looked down to me. Of course if we could get into the FBS already it would've been reviewed and probably overturned...

I wasn't able to see the game tonight, but looking at the box score a few things jump out at me...

1. 8 penalties for 65 yards? Not good.

2. A goose egg in the fourth quarter at home? Also not good. Did the crowd stick around after halftime tonight?

3. Fogg is a man among children. Very good!

I know there's always more to it than the stats, but I do think those things are interesting.

Crowd was still hanging in there until our FB dropped the ball. Didn't seem that too many had left. Problems in the fourth quarter- fumble leading to a touchdown, and the running into the punter penalty. We most likely would have scored off of one of those drives.

If I recall correctly, they had just as many penalties. And the personal foul on Liberty's drive was crucial. Without that extra 15, not sure the Flames would've gotten as close as the 1 yard line.

Frustrating to say the least. Not sure what happened on the fumble but everyone had stopped as if the play was dead. Anyway not sure the QB was running in that situation. Even with that and the roughing the kicker we had a chance. I assume Boyd is done? What is status on Sigmon & Hudson?

I'd say so. I feel really bad for him and I hope he has a full recovery and is eligible to play next year. I saw the leg on the replay and cringed. It looked bad...

31 points to NS, I thought our defense would preform better than that? On a couple of plays our tackling was absolutely awful. Time to regroup.

Class of 09 I agree with you. Not just Boyd & Sigmon but I was sitting near the medical table on the sidelines and it seemed like every other series we had someone getting worked on. Even with injurys and Coach was gone most of the week still had a chance to win. Got to win these home games especially when you are about to go on road to Montana.

Power was out for 9+ hours from a rain storm (no wind, thunder, lightning, tornado, etc) today, after having it out for 6 hours this week to "upgrade" it so it wouldn't go out as often, so I haven't seen anything yet. Do I want to watch the ESPN3 replay?

The only thing I am going to say right now is that it is extremely frustrating being a Flames Fan. It is definitely not for the faint of heart.

BTW AA should be out #1 RB no question!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, jbock, but that's just dumb. Take out their RB who scored 3 tds and we blow them out. We should have been up by more than 10 at the half. And take away the fumble that wasn't a fumble and we would have won.

Being far from a kool aid drinker and having slept on it...I'm still not frustrated. I just give first year coaches in situations like this a pass, don't embarrass us, win a few games and show that you at least have a plan. I know some are bangingonour tackling, but it's a whole lot better then last year. There were several times in the open I cringed thinking they were going to miss the tackle only to make the tackle. Our secondary can tackle. Offensively we are trying to find ourselves. After years of seemingly having the QB make it up as he goes and when in trouble toss it to our big WR, we are looking at a more balanced approach with new players.
All in all I'm ok where we are. I just hope we can win a game before Oct. if only we had a nose tackle hmmmm ha
