staffing wise, Rocco took all the scrubs with him and we kept the 3 or 4 quality people that I would've wanted anyway. Nothing lost with any of those guys IMHO.

Any thoughts on who we would want from his staff at Buffalo? Other than the obvious in Wimberly.

I have heard full coaching staff is gone... Other than S&C. That's what i hope would have happened anyways... HC should picj their entire staff and not be forced to keep someone just because of history here.

Unless Coach Gill changed his mind from the press conference yesterday, I think at least a couple of guys are going to be around initially. Id hate to see Coach Gomes out of a job, or Coach Sundheim seeing as they pretty much are lifers and could at least make the transition easier

When did he mention keeping anyone in the PC yesterday? I think Gomes is alright - isn't he more of a Chaplin, than a coach? New coach - new staff...

I went back and rewatched the video (especially the part where it was asked about the staff) and he didnt say much of anything specific other than that there would be some Kansas folks on it. I would think that it would make sense to keep a couple people on to ease the transition from one staff to the next. Remember, players have a connection with the assistants as they do the head coach

It rarely makes since... Coaches bring in all new staffs all the time. We don't need old staff to stay to keep a connection - I think Gill is more than capable of creating that connection. Past coaches are only a connection to the past and most of the time bring up old habits of past coaches. He will bring in quality coaches = coaches that are better than before and coaches that can recruit and coaches that can build connections to their players.

In football especially you see coaches hang around all the time. Anthony Poindexter at UVA jumps to mind.

I am excited to see who he fills out his staff with as well but I think in this case the players seem excited enough to be playing for Coach Gill (anyone else keep wanting to call him "Kendall Gill" or am I just showing my age?) so that connection might not be as important as it would have been if we hired a relative unknown.

Nice Flyin Illini reference! I hope he brings Marcus Liberty with him. Seems a natural fit. Have Kenny Battle work with the LBs...

The Californian is the son of Dr. David Jeremiah of the national radio ministry Turning Point.

Daniel Jeremiah joined the Eagles on May 27, 2010 as a west coast area scout, after most recently working as a national scout with the Cleveland Browns (2007-08). Prior to his stint in Cleveland, Jeremiah served as a west area scout for the Baltimore Ravens (2005-06), after initially joining the team as a personnel assistant from 2003-04.

App State's Coach Moore on Daniel as a player.
"Jeremiah is firm in his belief that what's best for the team is what's best for him.

As long as after next week either me or him is talking about being 5-0, I really don't care who plays... I want to get a Southern Conference ring, said Jeremiah.

Moore, who will have the tough job of deciding which quarterback will play and which one will hold the clipboard on the sideline, said after the game that obviously one of the plusses for us is that we can come off the bench with a guy like Daniel Jeremiah... He's got a great heart and he's got a lot of experience.

I've been coaching for over 30 years, and I heard him make one of the premier statements that I've ever heard from a football player in my life... Daniel made the statement that if he made David Reaves a better quarterback, and if he made us a better team, that he'd done his job, said Moore."

Worked at ESPN
For years, professional scout Daniel Jeremiah has made the best out of even the most humble of situations.

At a small high school in San Diego, Jeremiah set his county's passing record. He received a division one scholarships and began he college career at UL Monroe, eventually transferring to Appalachian State.

When the NFL didn't come calling, ESPN did.

I;m not quite sure why Daniel Jeremiah is all overt this thread. Some of you might know him better from his @MoveTheSticks days before he joined the Eagles staff.

He also happens to be the brother-in-law of our own JoshCox.

As for Coach Gill's staff, I haven't heard a thing.

Sly (and others), didn't we have one of David Jeremiah's sons on the LU football team for maybe one year and then he transferred out? If so, was it Daniel?

Yes, but it wasn't Daniel. I think it was 91 or 92.

Some history with Gill. When Callahan came into Nebraska (2004) the only coach he kept on staff was Turner Gill. Gill left the position after one year, he really didn't click with Callahan and the rest of his staff. So needless to say it wasn't a positive experience.

I'm not sure what he did at Buffalo and Kansas. Anyone have insight there?
