What happened to our kick coverage today? The rest of it was just some back and forth between two equal teams. With three TD's called back how did we keep it so close :dontgetit .

Bottom line, we've lost two "very close" games to two teams "rank higher" than us .... Play on :football

I got on the wireless at work and Jon pretty much made the point I was going to. AD Barber is going to be the one to initiate if there is going to be a significant change on the sidelines

And hopefully he sees a HC who has been okay with mediocrity and cleans house.

It depends on who is in charge. Is Rocco in charge or is the athletic director in charge? That's the big question at any school that wants to be big time in football and we've showed we want to be big time.

Hey, I did like the fact that the team didn't give up until the very end...moved the ball enough to at least get an attempt to tie it...

I think people need to be careful. If you go back to the Firehouse, you can remember when people were saying, "Bring back Morgan Hout". But at the time when Hout was here, the knock on Hout was he couldn't win the big games in the fourth quarter.

Where would Liberty football be if they hadn't have made the move????

You know the history...we bring in Rutigliano, and we have about 3 good years and then fall off.
So then we bring in Karcher...who would put together the toughest schedule he possibly could every year and lined up with just 1 running back in the backield...and the team just ended up demoralized.

Do you remember the years when our biggest win was a 28 point come from behind win over VMI. They called it the Miracle on the Mountain. We've gotten better.

Were just stuck on better. Eventually we're going to get one of these games. Let's see what happens in the conference season before we start lining up at the cliff. I may be dissappointed with some of the decisions, but I still have confidence in Rocco.

Unless the Asa stuff comes back to bite us completely, there's no way we clean house completely.

Which is a shame.

We still have conference season ahead of us at this point. We get a fairly easy game next week at home prior to that. If we still win the conference and make the playoffs, then Id probably say that some change in the assistants is all thats needed...if we fail to win the conference outright (again), then I think a fire sale will probably be in order

Speaking of Asa Haynesworthless ... who looked completely out of shape and worthless on the field today.

I dont want to have to change coaches because that leads to huge turnover..look at basketball..stability is not a bad thing. However, a year ago i would've been on here saying it's ludicrous to think of changing coaches...but I'm tired of being stuck. It's always dangerous changing coaches, you never know if your going to be better but the last week and a half i have been really dissappointed with the in game decisions, coaching, and the off field decision making. I hope it's just a bad couple weeks, but i dont know that winning the rest of the games makes me feel any differently about this team unless we get in the playoffs and win a atleast a game or 2

I remember when we lost a 28? point lead and the game to VMI in Lexington the first time we played them. It was called The Battle of the Blue Ridge. They pooch kicked three times in a row and we fumbled them all and lost them. Thanks for reminding me of another game we choked away.

Im just bein real BYD...this is probably the toughest OOC we have had since Coach Rocco took over so even though I thought we could finish the reverse, the fact that we are 1-3 right now doesnt overly shock me. What we need to realize now is that this isnt a time to give up the ship, we still have games ahead, and many of them Im sure we can win. If we play for 60 minutes like the flashes have shown (even in our losses), we could still roll through our conference schedule, and like I said, at that point, we just need to change some of the other guys with the headsets.

Sorry, you must have been watching another game. Asa made a couple of big plays. To be fair, he also looked out of shape and not effective on others. I don't believe you can say worthless. If you look worthless up in the dictionary, you should see a picture of #24.

I said we'd go 1-3. Being right is a way of life for me :D

That's a lot of hate to be placing on a player who isn't facing felony charges. What's wrong with you!!

and the lack of discipline is just as much his fault as DR's so I don't exactly have much faith in him either

There's alot that can be said. The bottom line is:

If we don't win out, Rocco's got to go.

I don't think Rocco should go, but the assistants should. Especially the DC.

Eh okay, you're right. My apologies.

Well, that knocks down my percentage to being right 99.8% of the time.

So, let's start the list. If we don't make the playoffs, Rocco must go...

ToTheLeft (he probably shouldn't be on the list b/c he thinks he should be gone no matter what)
BuryYourDuke
JCManson
BJWILLIAMS (never thought I'd see that, this must be serious)

Anybody else?
As long as Rocco is here, I feel like he has a chance to prove himself to me. He's not done that yet this year.

I said that last year. The fact that there were NO changes is ridiculous. Like I said, I'm stilling hoping we win out.

"This is not a talent issue."

We are undisciplined. If you looked at stats only, we're 4-0.

We lost the NCSU game because of 7 turnovers and inopportune penalties - lack of discipline.
We lost the JMU game because of 11 penalties at the worst times - lack of discipline.
We lost to Lehigh because of stupid decisions, missed field goals, penalties - lack of discipline.
Off the field issues - lack of discipline.

Hmm, I notice a trend...

Exactly. Which is ironic since people seem to think Rocco is such a good leader. I think Rocco is more a firestarter. He can get the team going, but he can't keep them under control. The fire is out of control now.

Yep. Even if we don't make the playoffs. Sorry guys. You are free to have your opinons as well, but I just believe we are better with Rocco. Who else out there would you like to see coach the team?

And for the record, yes I know a lot of you said we should fire the DC last year. You all are correct, and I'm with you 100%.
