Optimism:

LU Total Offense: 5th in the nation, 454 yards per game.

CCU Total Defense: 42nd in the country, 331 yards per game.

Coastal is in the bottom 15 in kickoff and punt returns.

They also give up 28 points per game. We give up 17.

I like what npretty said when she said you can't compare opponents against each other like that. That's kinda okay for making a poll but it's not an accurate predictor when it comes to actually picking who will win.

I agree that LU will win this game. I dont think it will be a 55-19 Mack truck job like it was in Lynchburg last year. Coastal plays well at home (which is to be expected) and with three straight losses to Liberty, we are MAKING them pay attention to us (not to mention the fact that the winner of this game has won the Big South every year since 2004). They know that we are the big dog running the show these days and they cant just expect to roll over us like they did from 04-06.

On our way down to Myrtle Beach last night, I was searching for a radio station and came across Coach Bennett's call-in show and listened for the last 20 min. Now I totally get everything you guys have been posting!

On another note--anyone have any tips on things to do in the Myrtle Beach area?? We're here until Sunday!

Guys at work told me you can't go two miles without seeing a golf course or a strip club

I'm not suggesting anything... just being helpful

I'm from the South and I just about needed an interpreter for that one.
I wonder if their AD has ever thought about prescribing some remedial speech courses... maybe some tutoring for grammar- he could probably get it for free. That's ridiculous.

NewsAdvance.com wrote:LU relying on defensive depth against Coastal

CONWAY, S.C. — Liberty has played nine football games this season. The Flames’ leading tackler — Kyle O’Donnell — is tied for ninth in the Big South in tackles, and only three times this year has a Flame racked up double-digit tackle totals.

To Liberty coach Danny Rocco, that’s not a bad thing. Three times this year, no one on the Flames’ defense has finished a game with more than six tackles, which means the tackling duties are being spread around the team. The Flames have better depth on defense than they’ve had at any point in Rocco’s tenure, and the fifth-year coach hopes that leads to fresh play down the stretch as Liberty chases its first FCS playoff berth.

An hour and twenty minutes until kick off. Cannot wait for the game to start. As far as the players twittering, I'm surprised they've been allowed to say some of the things they've said. They do look focused and I hope the swagger transfers to their level of play today.
