Pat came in to catch his first punt pretty early. I think he was brought in just to fair catch since he's got more reliable hands, and VMI's punter was just skying them, and a turnover on ST would have given VMI momentum they couldn't have got any other way.

OK, I guess I got fooled by the updated records. That Robert Morris loss is looking a little less painful with every win they pull out. They may even get into the top 25 eventually...

Danny Broggin might not have a professional football carreer ahead of him. But a WWE job is a definate option. Belly to Back Suplex. Broggin Noggin Buster.

Yeah, I had the same reaction. Here's the argument given by the Big South:
BigSouthSports.com wrote:Davis collected five tackles, 1.5 sacks and a pass break-up in the first half at Presbyterian College before leaving with an injury. His pass break-up came on PC's first series on 3rd-and-10 and forced a three-and-out punt. At the end of the first quarter, David assisted on a third down sack to force another punt. In the second quarter, he stopped PC running back Trandon Dendy for no gain on 3rd-and-1, and on the next play, sacked PC's quarterback at the Coastal 18-yard line to end the threat and give the Chanticleers the ball.

Methinks that perhaps there might be some voters tired up seeing Liberty athletes winning honors every week. I have no problem with any of the selections but this curious pick.

I agree Sly, this looks like they are sick of LU winning every week. But with the bye week, they should have waited for a relief. Broggin had a better game than that, and is deserving. So I hereby give Danny Broggin the first ever FF Defensive Player of the week award!

Sounds like he would have to have finished with 20 tackles, 5 sacks, 2 INT (1 TD) and a couple blocked kicks (or play for a different Big South school)

CONWAY - Coastal Carolina quarterback Zach MacDowall has been named the Choice Hotels Big South Football Offensive Player of the Week, while sophomore defensive end Jamel Davis was tabbed the league's Defensive Player of the Week for their performances in the Chanticleers' 35-7 win at Presbyterian Oct. 16.

MacDowall (Acworth, Ga.) accounted for 301 yards of total offense and was responsible for four touchdowns, passing for three and rushing for one. The senior rushed for a career- and game-high 97 yards on 11 attempts (8.8 per carry) and scored a 16-yard touchdown. Through the air, MacDowall was 11-of-21 for 204 yards and had TD passes of seven, 26 and 134 yards. It marks the fourth time in MacDowall's career he has thrown three TDs in a game.
 134????
