A loss to VT isn't going to kill JMU in the FCS rankings, a loss to LU would hurt quite a bit. you underestimate your team. a loss to LU would not kill us in the playoff hunt. Hurt us, yes, but c'mon, LU is a ranked team.

I didn't mean it like that. I try to look at it from the prespective of voters or a committee. With VT as a 1A team, JMU is not really expected to be able to compete with or beat them. But with JMU and LU being on the same level, the winner / loser is judged based on a like opponet.

I kind of see what you're saying after re-reading your post. A loss to VT would be "an acceptable loss", just like Duke and Maryland. The season we lost to Duke we were still ranked #1 for quite some time later on. but a loss to LU would hurt us in the polls.
