A tough call, but one thing to consider. After LU beat an acknowledged very bad Presby team they made a rather massive jump in the polls. If they win out... (emphasis on the word "IF") ... they would probably be pushing the top ten or possibly even in the top ten. That alone would make excluding them from the playoffs a little difficult to defend. How do you tell a top ten team that they don't make the playoffs? Granted, that's an "IF" and probably a long shot, but still .....

Liberty's jump was heavily aided by losses from teams that were previously ranked ahead of them. The top 11 spots are pretty solid and it is unlikely that they will drop unless one of them pulls a "Presby". If Liberty wins the rest of their games they will climb in the polls but that does not guarantee anything.

I can't imagine there has been one... but I don't know how to check for sure. But I'd say I'm 99.9% sure they wouldn't do that.

That is essentially what the 1st round of the playoffs will be next year with the expansion to 20 teams.
