I agree completely. A 2007 schedule with Elon, Wofford, JMU, W&M, Furman, or something like that would be great. Even some of the MEAC schools would be good. Half of our nonconference schedule this year is very good (Towson, W&M, WCU). The other half (St. Pauls, Glenville St, and SSU) are to get some early wins under our belts. It works for this year. Next year I think we'll see a tougher schedule with a more experienced team.

I played from 86-90 and JMU and Central Florida were definitely our biggest rivals. I believe that we had so many kids from Florida on the team that it led to the rivalry with UCF.

Re: future schedules ...

Don't forget that LU still owes Youngstown State and Lehigh return trips. William & Mary will be on the schedule again in 2007, as will at least one I-A money game. Elon is getting on the schedule. The JMU series is still in the talk phase, despite what was reported in Harrisonburg. Presbyterian is also penciled in to every Big South team's schedule starting next fall. I would assume that LU will have to go to Western Carolina as well.
