I'm as impressed with the team's potential as anyone but I prefer cautious optimism. Maybe even hopeful pessimism.

Does a consistently overwhelming margin of victory improve the climb at all?

When you play in a non-auto league: no.

However, if we're winning close it hurts us.

I think the only way we make it into the playoffs is if we run the table EXCEPT for the JMU game. We have to lose that one in order to get our required quality loss against a CAA team.

Whoa whoa. Slow down there cowboy. We're just talking about cracking a poll right now. Let's not start that kind of talk for a while, please.

I don't see us breaking out of the 20's at any point. For whatever reason, this program cannot seem to get any respect. It's going to take more than one big win to put us the map and right now I don't even want to look ahead to any games that could potentially do that. We've seen how accurate these polls are after watching them for the last two years. I think they're baloney.

Let's just win out and see what happens. If they're still baloney after that, then we'll fry 'em up and come back next season.

The coaches poll is usually pretty good if it was used in 2008 we would have been in the Playoffs. I think the Flames can run the table and beat the dog mess out of JMU!
