Actually, a win would allow us to put a number in the "W" column instead of the "L" column!

I knew there were some dumb people over there from reading over the past few weeks, but it's just funny how clueless some of those people truly are. Granted, there are some that seem to know what they're talking about and are very intelligent, but some of those guys couldn't buy a clue.
If the "O" line plays another great game like they did last week, we might rush for 400 yards.
I think the Penguins win this one pretty easy. Liberty does not face the type of teams that YSU does year in and year out and that will hurt them. YSU will come in on a roll after last week hyped up and ready to prove that they deserve to be in the top 25. I think a loud croud like last week and YSU's smash mouth football(that we seem to have found against NDSU) will be enough to give us the easy win (if we play like we saw that they can).

Sly has found the Penguin messsage board, but he needs some help from Super and others, especially after we are referred to in these terms:
Liberty is a long time patsy. We have had this creampuff on the schedule many times for an automatic win.

The 3-and-0 Liberty Flames (web), coming off a bye week Saturday, hit the road for a tough test Saturday at Youngstown State. Youngstown is 2-and-2, but the Penguins upset number 2 in the country North Dakota State last Saturday. And one of their losses is to Ohio State. Liberty coach Danny Rocco says he feels the overall matchups are pretty even across the board, he knows Youngstown would love to run the ball all night on LU's front. Rocco knows from listening on the web the Youngstown crowd is very loud, and he's taking steps to prepare the Flames for lots of noise.

Not a lot of big news from Tuesday’s press conference with Liberty football coach Danny Rocco. As expected, several players are out for the Youngstown State game Saturday, including senior offensive guard Britt Stone, who broke his leg against Glenville State three weeks ago. Stone, Kyle O’Donnell (knee), Tommy Shaver (foot) and Paul Young (leg) will all be out for a few more weeks at least.

Danny Rocco, Liberty Flames Head Coach - "The one thing that keeps echoing in my mind is the cowbells. I guess that's a big part of their home fan base. But Wednesday at practice, we're gonna pump some music into our stadium, most likely it'll be band music.
Picturing BJ ringing a cowbell into a microphone over the PA system.

Liberty football coach Danny Rocco is being careful with how much emphasis he puts on the Flames’ game Saturday at No. 23 Youngstown State.
Undeniably, it’s important, maybe as much so as any game in the school’s Division I history. Liberty, which is ranked No. 25 in this week’s Sports Network poll, has only twice won on the road against a ranked opponent — at Appalachian State in 1997 and at Central Florida in 1995.
Clearly, national voters still don’t know what to make of the Flames, who are 3-0 and have won eight straight games. Liberty dropped two spots in TSN’s poll and fell out of the Coaches poll, all without playing a game last week. That doesn’t bug Rocco, though.
“If I had a list of 100 things to do in a week to get our team ready, ‘impress the voters’ doesn’t make the list cutoff at 100,” Rocco said Tuesday.

But the author-considered by many the board idiot-was referring to Liberty in the past-he concludes that they now have decent athletes and he would not be surprised if YSU loses to them this year

I've never seen forums set up the way those YSU forums are -- newest message at the top. Makes it hard to read a full thread.

But according to the experts ,rather than a poster that is considered a retard by most YSU posters,Liberty is ranked higher than we are and they are on an 8 game winning streak and they only lost to Toledo by one point last year.I guess that means that we can read even less than you guys.

Three days after losing 40-7 at South Dakota State, Youngstown State was a fractured football team.
Starting quarterback Todd Rowan called it quits and left the team. All-American defensive tackle Mychal Savage learned he would miss the season because of surgery on the shoulder he injured in YSU’s season-opening loss at Ohio State. Another D-line starter, end Luke Matelan, broke a foot and would be out at least six weeks.
All the while, Penguins coach Jon Heacock was defiant.
“We are all together in this,” he told the Youngstown Vindicator. “We will survive.”

Hey folks, I urge you to avoid that YSU Message Board. They are a bunch of fair-weather fans that just 2 weeks ago called for our AD-Head Coach to be fired, as well as the demise of the YSU Football Program.

I run an opposing blog which is far more optimistic of our program. We aren't negative, we don't think Liberty is a bunch of pansies like they do. Nonetheless safe travels to those who attend the game. I have a game preview up on my blog coupled with an entrance video to be played before the game tomorrow.

News reports say 18,500 have been sold for this game. Some are suggesting it will sell out. And it's worth noting, NDSU struggled with 14,300 at the Ice Castle last week, I can only imagine what it will be like tomorrow if the rain stays away.

GOOD LUCK!
SAFE TRAVELS!

Voters across the nation are not yet sold on the Youngstown State University football team.

Looking to change the mindset of the pollsters, the Penguins host No. 25 Liberty University Flames Saturday in a non-conference contest at Stambaugh Stadium. The Flames will be the third ranked FCS team the Penguins have faced just five weeks into the season.

But Saturday's game won't be a marquee matchup of Top 25 squads. Despite a huge upset over the No. 2 team in the nation, the Penguins remain unranked in the Sports Network poll and only moved up one spot in the FCS Coaches' Poll to the No. 23 slot.

Head coach Jon Heacock didn't seem to mind his team missing out on getting back in the poll saying that the polls simply don't mean anything five weeks into the season.

As of last night, less than 1500 tix left for this game. If it sells out, it will be the first since 2000.

I have to believe the brisk ticket sales indicate there will be a substantial contingent of LU fans present. I can't imagine that the local YS fans are all that amped about Liberty coming to town.

I wouldn't be too sure about that:
Calling all Penguins’ fans: Hartzell hopes to break attendance record
“The motivation is to get as much support as possible for this football team because they displayed a lot of character on the field last week,” Hartzell said. “They displayed national championship caliber football last week. “I want a crowd of 22,000 people for [tonight’s] game,” Hartzell said.
I am hoping Liberty brings a nice group of fans, they won't be dissappointed by the tailgate festivities and the game itself! Always a good time. NDSU brought probably 200 or so fans to the game last week.

I was reading ESPN.com's preview of the game and YSU has NEVER lost when they score 30 or more points. If LU wants a shootout they better step it up if they want to put a 1 in that category
Coaching changes

It appears your intel was on the mark.
