A 1% success rate is not something the Army would be very pleased with. Just sayin'

Is it too soon for me to authorize Ian to instigate P5 Scheduling now or do you all want to wait and see how HF does...ha!

I have done a 180 on the Freeze hire. At first the Sanctions at Ole Miss and his record in the SEC the last year or two were really alarming. I have heard the reports about the sanctions and saw that two assistants were given show clause and HF was only given a couple games suspension. Also HF was pretty much praised for his role in compliance at Ole Miss by the report and AD. So that settled a lot for me there.

I am happy to have him, but it feels like we are being used. I am ok with being used if HF stays for more than 2 seasons. Hearing interviews and reading articles, even quotes from his wife Jill. It sounds like they have one foot out the door already. If Hugh wins 8 games including a bowl and leaves after year 1 for an SEC job, would that leave the program in worse shape than when he got here ?

I am all on board with supporting this staff, and I am aware that he signed a 5 year deal with a decent buy out clause. But if the SEC comes calling and the money isnt an issue, I get the vibes from HCHF that he will bounce. I dont blame him, just hope that happens after 3 years instead of 1.

I think it's really going to come down to Liberty effecting him not the other way around. If he sees in two years that he can recruit at a mid tier P5 level here without the pressures to bend rules and structure for him and his family, he could become legendary in LU circles.

I think the administrative culture, gameday experience, and scheduling might all have their own roles to play in that too.

If he stays for this entire contract he either lost a step or has decided to embrace the culture here.

I think he stays a few years. He mentioned in one interview that his college-age daughters are transferring to Liberty. I think that is a good sign.

Feels like the SEC is his life long passion and dream. No matter what happens here.

I think his intentions, as they currently stand, are 100% to use Liberty to propel him back to the SEC. If he has success, he's here two years tops.

Unless he falls in love with the school.

Their family idolizes the SEC though so it's going to take a lot to make him fall in love with the school enough to stay.

Either way, we're using him just as much as he's using us. If we want to have any level of success, we're going to have to get used to changing coaches every 2-3 years.

I concur . I am hoping he will love it here at LU and will not want to leave.

I think LU is gonna be the place where Hugh Freeze makes his coaching return in ‘19.

Remember this name:

:football Hugh Freeze
That should settle that debate for a while.

But they’ve also seen the evils of the SEC and the adverse effects in the family. LU is super unique for him and his situation. I’m not going to be surprised if he’s here for awhile. He’s have to want a top flight SEC job like Auburn Georgia LSU Bama.
