This should be a GREAT recruiting tool. The weight room looks like it's going to be huge. Now all we need is an indoor field attached to it and we're in business! (probably won't be happening for quite a while)

if that is all on the same floor then the weight room isnt going to be too big. maybe the same size as the handcock....just from the looks of it too me, it's only half the size of the building on one floor

You just gotta know people. And besides, can you think of a better place for my office to be? Soap anyone?

do any of yall see a indoor facility 10 years down the road???

I've been trying to think about this, and maybe one of those bubble enclosures around the practice field we already have...seems to be a cheap alternative

You mean like a field house? That would be something. Certainly if LU aspires to go to the Bowl Division, then that is something to consider. BTW, isn't the weight room going to be housed in the BASEMENT portion?

Don't get worked up over those particular floor plans, guys, because those plans are 5 years old and the actual plans are even better! Those plans were drawn up before there was a basement level which the weight room will occupy almost entirely. I'm not sure why Bob Good has those out except to give people a base idea of what is coming.

i was hoping for remodeling david's place, since it is so close to the stadium and facility. it would require some work, but a good location.

I was looking at the plans in the pictures and the concrete slab pictures and the window openings didn't seem to match the amount of windows called for in the drawings...has the outside changed considerably since those plans were commissioned, Libertine?

judging by how drastically the facade of LaHaye Rink changed from the original architectural renderings- I'm betting it has all changed on PAmedic Fieldhouse  as well

peter...look 3 posts back at what libertine said. if he is correct, and he is very reliable, the plans have been changed. but really who cares about how many windows? it is gonna be a great building that will enchance our recruiting.

David's Place was been converted into the Center for Worship Studies after the LaHaye Student Center opened up. I guess you could call it the Sounds of Liberty Clubhouse now.

It would make a decent fieldhouse/locker rooms for soccer, track and lacrosse.

Funny that we're even having this discussion- I vividly remember (well, as vividly as I remember ANYTHING these days) the place brandy-new after it first opened.

sigh

Honestly, I say knock it down and make it a parking lot.

Sacrilege, I know.

Why not a 3 or 4 deck parking garage in the gravel pit behind David's Place--and partition the top deck off during football games for tailgating.

Sacrilege indeed. . . do you know the story behind David's Place? Does anyone??? Maybe some kind of Sports Hall of Fame Center, eh?

I know who it's named for. That's the problem w/ naming buildings after the dearly departed. Eventually, said building will probably be used for something said departed would have little to no regard for.
