Wow, this is a really sweet pickup. Maybe next year won't be such a rebuilding year after all 8)

If Buck does indeed sign with us, will that be a bigger transfer signing, talent-wise, than even Rashad or Vince was a few years ago?

It is tough to compare a center with a rush end/OLB or a feature back. But he would certainly be a very nice addition to our O-line.

We need to be sure this guy doesn't go hiking up on the mountain while coach Green in is on the hunt.

If he indeed is heading to the mountain then it looks like the team may be just as good and a little deeper than last year! That is if the QB situation works itself out and the team gels together nicely. I really can't wait the season starts again...any one else going to be in Morgantown?

In most pro-style offenses the center is the most important guy on the field. He's the one making all the line calls and blocking assignments. He can change the whole blocking scheme of a play by calling the defense and line assignments. His blocking skills and snapping ability are obviously important as well. If you have a great center the talent of your offensive line goes up a notch.

What he said. And given that, I would have put Godsil up against a lot of FBS centers this year.

I still have nightmares of the 1st and goals and we couldn't run Jennings in for the score. Owning more of the line of scrimmage can make a huge difference (cf W&M O.T. 07)

I can't believe you brought that nightmare of a game up  We could have done a few things differently to win that game but I still have nightmares about the two bad spots in OT.

Pat Dickerson makes the interception that went right through his hands and we don't worry about the spot.

Yeah, that has to be the bigger disappointment from overtime that game...

Haha.

Best moment was the guy standing near us encouraging us to plant your flag at midfield... in the turf. :P

No one with the team can officially comment until the 5th or the 12th, depending on when/if he enrolls in class.

Most of my media friends are in Phoenix for the Fiesta Bowl and my direct contacts have not gotten back with me.

Stay tuned.

I will say this, I did hear from someone who was working on the transfer that the transfer fell through, HOWEVER this was a week before Dickens said what he did, so who knows what the status is of late.

I know my dad got to spend some time with him while he was on his visit and said he's a really likable guy and made a very good impression on everyone he met with that day.
