I've heard of the book dude. I didn't spend high school under a rock some where. I just didn't memorize it or think that reading it in class was some life changing experience. I was too busy watching sportscenter, hanging out with friends, playing sports and going to ballgames to get all wrapped up in some book that would REALLY help me get some where in life. But believe me, when I have kids someday, I'll make sure they have every word of Canterbury Tales memorized before their first job interview. If not before their first football game. Don't want to look like an idiot on the football field when you get benched for not knowing that a Chanticleer can be found in a ridiculously long book that has little bearing on life. Talk about a crushing blow to the ego.

I don't get it...why do schools pick CHICKENS as mascots? Deleware, Coastal, South Carolina...at least be the eagles, I know its unoriginal but at least it has respectability.

Outstanding - the perfect blend of sarcasm and smack in one line. :bowdown

Luconn, would you be pleased or offended if I said that was "libertine-esque"?

I thought Chanticleer was the singing rooster in Rock-a-Doodle.

Are you serious? Why should he? If we beat a team four times in a row, even if they beat us the ten times before that, we'd brag about the three times and leave out the ten.

Outscored lu 109-91

Man, we've only been outscored by 18 points despite being 1-3. This game is something else. If we had snagged one of those other games, I think this series would already be something special.

You guys should have won the 3OT game. You gave that one to us.

These stats are so close, it's stupid.

Here are the series rushing stats...pretty close:

728 for you guys
733 for us

Passing as well:

544 for you guys
674 for us

I think this signature is more fitting.

What is the talk about this weekend down Myrtle Beach way? You guys bringing any students up for the game? (I mean I know youre probably not bringing your band up although that would be pretty cool if one day they did make the trip up)

Same as the talk every week- How great Thig is and if he'll start this week for the Vik's

seriously- I think SJ is right: its really only a "rivalry" from our side. I think CCU's guys are looking forward to 2008 at this point.

I agree it's probably more of a rivalry on our side than theirs, but I don't think they are looking forward to '08 quite yet, especially when one of their fans calls this game the "big south super bowl."

true. Good point

I'm guessing there are no "Beat Liberty" signs on their campus, though

PA: He is not on the Viqueens he is on the KC Chiefs. He was in town last week and donated $25,000 though.

BJ: I would assume that there are some fans that will make the trip up there. I am not sure if SCREAM is chartering a bus or two to go up there or not.

JC: Yea, it isn't a huge rivalry for us. Our rival in conference football is chucky south just b/c of the bad blood. OOC would be app state because of the bad blood and their fear to come off the mountain, and SC State b/c it's a good instate rivalry. Lots of teams have a strong dislike for us because of our success as a young team.

I can tell you guys that I am looking forward to my trip to Happy Valley to see us take on Penn State to start the season. I am also anxious to see if wunderkind Jamie Childers will start that game or someone else will.
