I like it
I like it too, or maybe SeaOfRed, which I believe is actually the term we have used to describe our student section
Well than forget it. I'm sure the Administration will try to copyright it since it was once used to describe something affiliated with athletics

The Red Sea is growing on me. I mean if they tried to sue the site they'd also have to sue several Middle East Countries for naming a body of water too.
I am casting my vote endorsement and support behind this name

You do not want to go down this road, say this three times slow...........
Who's the dirty one now?

Good gracious...what are we a bunch of prepubescent or early pubescent teenage boys? Call me crazy but not every suggestion needs to be thought of as dirty in some way.

This has to be the dumbest, pettiest thing I've seen Liberty do. I'm surprised to read some comments that Liberty actively wants to find out the real names of the people here? Why? I work at LU but yea this seems so sad. Hopefully those 3% budget cuts discussed in another thread go to firing whoever made the dumb decision to go after the founders of this site.

As far as a name...

Better watch out for that performance review next year.
Haha, well I guess that's one upside to having narrow payscales in your workplace...when your capped, who cares if you miss out on a raise that'll never happen anyway!

Here's the thing, it's super common for businesses to have policies discouraging employees to engage in social media related to their business. It's not a bad idea and it's not a "free speech" issue.

At issue is how Liberty engages this issue. There are so many solutions to this issue for Liberty but once again, they wouldn't know proper public relations if it hit them in the face.

I think it's pretty standard stuff? My former employer has policies in place. Employees are informed in writing and have to read and sign an agreement. To read the actual document you have to be a employee and have access to the company website. Here's a union site that covers some of it though.

Yeah that is pretty common but take care of it in house don't go after a fan site that includes the most passionate fans in your base. It's a terrible strategy and alienates fans.

Our tailgating group calls itself the "Flamethrowers," but we would be honored if you wanted to use our name.

LightEmUpNation

I would see it as paying tribute to Mr. Alan York. He may disagree, but it is not an official University logo, slogan etc.

I'm sure we would have a lot more internet traffic...

This is either the PERFECT name or someone hasn't left their home in the last 20 years. Maybe too many episodes of Weeds without realizing it? Can you just imagine the school's reaction when our logo is (NOT)Sparky high as *bleep*, tokin on a massive blunt...oh the possibilities!

In all seriousness this is the worst idea. Ever.

As I said, "light em up" has been AY's TD call for at least the last couple years and anybody that has been listening to him do Liberty football for that time isn't going to confuse that with any sort of drug reference. If that's what comes to your mind when you see that, and you haven't heard AY call a game in that time frame...well...that's on you

Don't be hasty. I do know that as I catch most of the games on the radio or tv and I still think it's a bad idea, but to each their own. And since I'm boycotting all Liberty athletics events in person over the Trump endorsement, I suppose I'll be hearing a lot more if it for the foreseeable future.

Lightemup is cool but it's pretty football-centric.

A flock of eagles is actually called a convocation. So if you used "flockofeagles.com" someone would always be pointing out that it is incorrect. An eagles nest is an aerie. Perhaps that could be incorporated.
