Ok, keep that spirit. I'll be realistic. Where's that top 25 talk now?

Seriously. It was a good game. We just have to find the spark for our passing game. We had it going at the end, so it's there somewhere.

Realistic is not throwing away the season. It was one game. Not even the blowout that I had predicted.

Okay, I'll say it. Although we all wanted to win this one, we can't give up. Turn a few of the plays around and the score goes the other way. I hope the fan base doesn't lose interest because of this one.

Realistically we should get our offense back on track next saturday in Savannah against a bad SSU squad. We needed to find out where our holes were offensively. Now we know.

Again I don't think its time to trash the season.

Wasn't a blowout, so I'm happy about that.

I-AA victories on the road are always tough. Particularly against an A-10 team that is probably going to beat some quality teams this season.

I was going to say ... you know, Delaware lost here last year.

A 7 point loss doesn't disappoint me. I'd obviously want a win but we can give the boys some credit... they're coming along. They'd likely have been blown out last year. Let them get through these few games and they'll be fine.

You can't really be happy with a loss...but hey, they beat us by 28 or something like that at home last year. This is progress.

For the person who said they've been watching LU since 99 and get used to it...I've been watching LU since 97, and I still think that LU's going to turn the corner. I never saw as many people so excited as they were at the beginning of the year this year...A one touchdown loss to an A-10 team on the road isn't that bad.

Onward and Upward...our offense will come around. Brock seemed to be finding a rythm in the 4th quarter...hopefully they can keep it going in two weeks at Wake. I'm still on the bandwagon...I still believe!!

Also, we knew this would be a tough test....and we were only 8 points off on the spread (final prediction was 22-21 LU...). Too bad we weren't off by 8 points the other way!

Still confident!

Do you guys have any idea how good our defense is? 10 points to Towson and we seemed to be on D the whole game! That is remarkable. I thought our secondary sounded like they were covering well, we were able to come up with big tackles at key moments. You hold anybody to 10 on their home field and you have played an acceptional game. We had chances, the offense will come around and I know I will be accused of Kool aid sippin but this team is gonna get it done. If you can play d like that game in and game out you are gonna beat a lot of teams. Brock and Zach are both young QB's. They are both very talented though and I think that for a 1st division 1A game, this is a positve performance. The outcome was a bit disappointing but to have a potential tying or leading drive (2pt conv.) at the end of the game on the road, and get that close only to turn it over is tough but they have to be somewhat pleased too.

Overall, it was a tough night but we have a lot of potential. First off, LU did a great job pulling off the tailgate party tent thing. The food was good, the company was good and the support Liberty Alums and Students gave was GREAT. A good number of students made the drive from Lynchburg today and a lot of them are heading back tonight.

Defensively, LU played pretty well. our defense was good first half but had moments of shakiness in the second half.

Offensively, LU never really got into a good rhythm. It was a good drive there towards the end of the game but that turnover inside the 15 was a big killer on the psyche of the guys.

Both of the QB's were a bit shaky but they are young and they will come around and improve with time.

I am listening to the MP3 of the post game show and the comment Coach Rocco made about the headsets is interesting. Hmmmm

I will post some pics later

Just got back from watching the game. Givemethemic, SuperJon and some others were heading to the ESPN zone after the game. I had a good time sitting with Hbg Flame and his family. First LU game I've seen in person in 15 years and it was quite the experience. After the second possession when we went 3 and out, coach Rocco went over to the offense and punched a whole thru the 3'x5' dry eraser board as he was exhorting the team. Very intense. You guys heard the game, I'll just give some observations. Coach Sam used to say games are won or lost on 4-5 plays and this was true tonight.

Wynton Jackson let two balls go right threw his hands that would have resulted in TDs. On a third pass, it was 3rd and 10, crucial point in the second half, he was standing flat foot with no one around him and watched the ball go threw his hands and hit his chest. It would have been a first at around Towson'd 30 yd line.

Our punter had one nice drop close to the end zone but otherwise he either shanked the ball or hit line drives that gave our players no time to get down field.

We had three delay of game penalties. The third was on Towson's 5 yard line. Brock walked to the line of scrimmage with 7 seconds on the big clock located 20 yards in front of him and casually started looking down both sides of the line as the clock went to zero and we had time outs to burn.

Towson had 7, 8 and 9 people in the box but we kept forcing the running game up the middle which led to our defense being on the field way to long.

Towson's only TD came on a drive when our defense was totally winded. Not their fault, they played a spectacular game but they could only do so much.

Brock look really bad for the first three quarters. Jackson's drops did not help much. With all the pressure coming up the middle, Zach looked much better because he could sprint to the outside and open things up.

The defense seemed to make the right calls the whole game. They must have had 4 or 5 sacks and tackled really well. Several keys stops on third and fourth down. Except for the one drive when they scored, you could tell they were tired.

Kinda reminded me of the building years of the past. Lost to this team by 28 or so last year, lost to them by 7 this year, next year we post a victory.

Just got back from Towson. Got a chance to talk a little with absturgill and Aunt Ann (Brock's aunt) and others including Jeff Barber and Bob Goode. Really enjoyed the time with everyone and had a great turnout of LU fans. We probably had about the same number of fans as Towson did. Nice tent with some good grub, good conversations, and some nice give a ways.

As far as the game was concerned I agree with all of the comments that have been made thus far. I was disappointed with the offense and the lack of a running game. It didn't appear that the O-line had enough surge to give Jennings some holes to run through and Towson seemed to really key on him with 8 in the box. The receivers dropped too many balls. 2 drops would have went for TD's.

The defense played great. In the first half they dominated. The second half there were some lapses. But the defense did there part in holding them to 10 points and giving the offense a chance in the end but the fumble killed our chances.

Dispite the disappointment there is no reason to give up on the team. I think that progress was made in that we competed agains't a descent A10 team. A team that I think will beat some quality programs this year. LU needs to make some offensive adjustments to hopefully knock off some of the quality opponents on our schedule. Hopefullly we can recover and give Savanah a butt whooping and give Wake a competitive game.
