Who is this guy? :I chortle audibly.:
I know. I never thought of asking Baylor for a home and home! Brilliant! It's such a huge upside for Baylor they can't possibly refuse

I saw where Monmouth has replaced Stony Brook in BSC. Do we play Monmouth in 2013 ?

As a side note, personally I don't think Monmouth was a good addition to BSC. Granted it's a school to put on schedule, but that it. No big draw, no name recognition, no strengthing on conference.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (http://www.BigSouthSports.com) - The Big South Conference has added Monmouth University as an associate member in football, it was announced today by Big South Commissioner Kyle B. Kallander. Monmouth will begin competing in the Big South in 2014 and will be eligible for the League's championship and automatic bid to the FCS Playoffs upon entry. Monmouth will host a press conference on Friday, Feb. 15 at 1:00pm to formally announce the move.

"The Big South Conference is excited to expand our football membership with the addition of Monmouth University," said Kallander. "It is clear that Monmouth is committed to athletic excellence at the FCS level, which matches its impressive academic and institutional profile. Monmouth will be a great fit in the Big South. We are very pleased to welcome the Hawks!"

The addition of Monmouth will return the Big South to seven Division I Football Championship Subdivision members in 2014, joining Charleston Southern, Coastal Carolina, Gardner-Webb, Liberty, Presbyterian College and VMI. The Hawks' associate membership is for four years and returns the Conference to the New Jersey-New York metropolitan area following the departure of former associate member Stony Brook. Monmouth, which has competed at the FCS level as a member of the Northeast Conference (NEC) since 1996, will make the necessary upgrades to meet the requirements of being a full scholarship FCS program in 2014. The Hawks will compete as an Independent in 2013 and will play at Liberty on Sept. 7.

He's calling out ballcoach for doing the exact same thing he did. Haha... my kids used to do that. They just liked seeing someone else get what they got. Usually backfired, though.

Due to the format of this message board, it is very easy to miss a post. Before I made comments on Monmouth, I looked on board for information on Monmouth and did not see anything.
Some need to stick to commenting on LU sports, instead of attacking other posters. On any good sports message board, there will be differences in opinions. Boards would be no good or fun if everyone had same mindset.
I see posts I do not agree with, but I will not resort to attacking the poster. The First Amendment gives all of us free speech.

To be frank, everybody has been later than usual coming out with schedules with all the shifting around due to realignment for 2013. Villanova lost a game with Pitt because they had a chance to open against FSU on Labor Day Weekend and as a result they are now playing Boston College who bought out a game with Stony Brook, while Wofford stepped aside and is now playing Baylor while SMU is now playing Montana State who bought out a game against NDSU...so basically its been a crazy game of football musical chairs which has resulted in quite a few teams scheduling D2 or lower or an FBS opponent (maybe two)

According to one of our friends over on AGS, here is what our options look like for filling two of our three openings on the schedule:

9/14: Drake (PFL), Stetson (PFL)
9/28: Wofford (SoCon), MVSU (SWAC)

That's about all we have to play with right now, but at least we would only have to schedule 1 D2 team on the schedule instead of 2 or even 3

I would love to play Wofford. Solid team that we could probably hang with at home. Honestly, for a short list of openings, there aren't many bad options. I hope we can avoid from having to play several D2 teams.

According to some Brevard folks, they will be coming up to Lynchburg on November 16th. BC opens their season at Presby.

That leaves two more games yet to be publicly revealed. It is my understanding that one of those dates is already booked but they are waiting to book the last one before revealing the entire schedule.

I'd like to see another game with an ACC school or another BCS conference team. We seem to play well against the big guys. Someday we will win one of them.

We already have an FBS game scheduled to open the season (Kent State). I see no reason why we would (or should for that matter) schedule another game against an FBS school (much less a BCS school) when we are trying to get 6 home games (possibly 7)

Most lower-level FCS teams look to play FBS teams for financial security, some play two, like Presby has. However, since we take in much more revenue than them, we worry more about having home games than we do an extra FBS game. I remember one year we only played five home games and it sort of stunk.
