Gabe will most likely be a QB. Also Barnett is a better version of BJ hayes. Pratt could do similar things as Garner.

I think we'll see him in similar role as to how we saw MB the year Beecher was here. He will play QB, be our 2nd string QB, but also play as 1st string WR and possibly punt returner.

We're a little thin at WR next year, so I think that's the main reason we will see him at both spots.

I would love to see Woodrum come in and be too good to leave out and be able to use Henderson as a wildcat option QB but primarily a receiver. It would be great to have a r-Fr QB lead us next year and only get better for three more after that.

Seems like a lot of people are forgetting about Tyler Brennan. Whether you like him or not, he's the guy to beat for the starting job.

Oh I didn't forget about him, but I would like to see Woodrum be even better than him. That would probably be better for us down the road. But if Brennan lives up to his capability and Woodrum can develop under him for another year that would be cool too. I'm just not a huge fan of the dual threat QB system. Look at the beating Mike has taken and I really believe that has led to his somewhat disappointing performances at times. Just my thoughts on it.

I agree with you, but Gabe was our highest rated recruit the year he came in and we agreed he would play QB. So get used to seeing him at QB.

I'd have to agree. Tyler is definitely the one to beat for the job but I would like to see Woodrum get it. The only thing with Woodrum is that he is going to make us operate differently. Right now, we rely on a dual-threat qb and Woodrum is not near as mobile as MB. So, our schemes are going to be a lot different with a pocket qb. Not a bad thing, it's just going to bring into question how this offense can adjust to being something different with that schedule next year. Also, I'd like to see Aldreakis get some carries next year. The he's been running, he could be good enough to be the best RB in the Big South. I think if we win the BS next year, he's going to be what separates us from Stony Brook.

I feel that we can adjust the offense to the people we have. I remember when we had Smith and Jennings as our back field and the offense looked very different.

I'd agree with that. I am loving what this schedule is looking like though. We have several opportunities to get some quality wins early on. Plus, we can take Wake...they always have one decent year like this and then fall apart for the next 4 years.

We're talking about Wake Forest, right? Since Grobe took over, they tend to have 2-3 winning seasons in a row then 2-3 losing seasons in a row. They had winning records in 01 and 02, losing records 03-05, winning records 06-08, and losing records 09 and 10, and are 5-3 this year. That tends to point towards a winning season this year and another winning season next year. Considering their QB is a sophomore, and quite good, I don't fancy our chances.

Well, it looks as though we will be starting 1-3 again.

I guess you're right. I still think we could play a good game with them though. Our defense should be top notch next year. Asa and Kajuan Lee might be leaving but I think Lee's replacement, Ayers is going to be really really good. We're going to have to replace MB and Summers on offense but I think we have a nice set of receivers. So, for me the only question about next year is whether or not we can find someone to be accurate. Brennan should improve and maybe Woodrum gets to step in. Additionally, I think we'll take Lehigh at home. So, we could better than people expect us to be.

WVU in no way shape or form is going to back out of the JMU game at FedEx. There is too much guaranteed money for them to nix that game. WVU would have to drop one and the most likely game would be the Marshall game. WVU would have a very small buyout amount ($250K?) to get out of that game, where they are assured of ($1.5 mil.?) from JMU game.

WVU will not drop Marshall. Governor Tomlin's (Manchin's puppet) political career depends on it.

i wonder if the great kyle kallander gave any thought to requiring campbell to face a big south football member if they needed a game in order for readmittance to the big south? playing campbell would be better than a d2 since they are FCS non-scholly pioneer league.

I agree and posted something similar, but in the wrong thread here: http://www.flamefans.com/forums/viewtop ... 75#p366775

still wonder why we don't look to bring in Campbell, Davidson, or another non-scholly DI rather than a DII- even though they may be a good DII

just doesnt pay to schedule down. Had we beat a Pioneer league team this year we wouldve been a candidate for an at-large

What about trying to lock up something with one of the 3 schools jumping to FBS next year? South Alabama, UTSA or Texas State would look nice on the schedule.

They are all booked up moving forward. I'd like to see us book Houston Baptist when they hit the field in a couple of years. They are already DI like ODU, Georgia State & Charlotte so they don't have to jump through as many hoops as step-ups.

While it would be nice, truthfully I don't think it would be feasible to force that, i.e. a conference member's newfound open date falls on the same Saturday that they have a conference game. There would have to be a TON of schedule shifting along with whatever penalties for not playing a game to be paid in order to make something like that work.

It could & should have been done. Just watch the negotiations between the Big east and the schools they are chasing. There is plenty of room for negotiations. And in Campbell's case, Kyle held all of the cards.

i was hoping you would respond sly. I did not think that was an abnormal request KK could have told campbell.
