I always hope to find one of those that was washed away from Treasure Island. They were basic but strong.

Frankly, I would be willing to pay for one of these red throwbacks depending on what they look like.

The good news for those being turned away at the gate is that the game is televised. That way they will still be engaged and hopefully we put on a great enough show to make them want seats for the real home opener even more.

As for the green & gold jerseys, I saw a baseball one on eBay years ago but I didn't have the expendable scratch to justify pulling the trigger. I have regretted it ever since.

I have the 76 baseball jersey and warm up jacket at my house, but somewhere in my parents, my Dad has the original green and gold baseball outfit, a green and gold football jersey, and a box with about 30 orange scaremare t-shirts from i think 74 or so. heres a pic of the scaremare shirts, if i ever find the green and gold jerseys ill post them, though for those that dont know, the original school logo was a gold octagon with green lettering.

Three first-year players in the program will definitely play this season, Rocco said: Freshman WR Gabe Henderson, freshman LB Scott Hyland and sophomore DB Pierre Hawkes. Unless some sort of injury need strikes, it seems that rest of the freshman class will redshirt.

Liberty vs. St. Francis at City Stadium – 12:00 on Sat, 9/4:

Former head coaches John Cartwright (1974-1976), Tom Dowling (1977-1983), and Morgan Hout (1984-1988) have confirmed their attendance for our season opener at historic City Stadium, home to the Flames Football team from 1973 to 1989. (Coach Sam Rutigliano is unable to attend due to a prior commitment.) The return for one final game at City Stadium will be nostalgic for alumni and fans who were part of that history, and permit others to appreciate where the Liberty Football tradition began. During the game, we will honor all of those in attendance who played or coached at City Stadium, and coaches Cartwright, Dowling, and Hout will join us at the pre-game meal and be our honorary game captains and participate in the pre-game coin toss.

Hope to get a chence to speak with Couch Hout.

I don’t think this is the same program that lost 68-10 to Liberty three years ago here. I’d expect a better game than most people are expecting, but that’s just one reporter’s opinion.

don't worry guys it was announced on Libertyflames.com that all games will be carried live on FamilyNet..but in my case I get another choice with CTN carrying the games too. I had no idea I even had that station...LU just opening my eyes to all kinds of fine quality Christian stations, haha

Not sure of the date, it was a late-season game that was moved because City Stadium's field was flooded. Brookville's season was complete and the Bees' field was in a bit better shape. So the game was moved there.
