Frankly youre not...the only time Coastal will come up in my mind beyond this post is when we play them and maybe if they make a bowl game and I have to pick their game for ESPN Bowl Mania

That is 4 years from now. I'll obviously want to win but that is about where it ends with me. It was a manufactured rivalry. I've moved on. Haha

I still love the story about how Coastal was hosting the Big South Quiz Bowl Tournament, and Jeff Barber gave our varsity team five "Beat Coastal" T-shirts to wear when we drove down to Conway. We sure got the stares from the locals when we wore those red shirts into a restaurant across the street from Coastal's campus.

Talk to anybody close to Coastal and they'll agree it was a rivalry manufactured by LU. Of course they wanted to beat us but LU was much more invested in it than Coastal.

I'd be good with never playing them again to be honest.

I am looking forward to this board getting some "action" again. I know high schools and colleges have dead periods, where coaches can't do anything with players, but I didn't know message boards had dead periods also.

Of course, but they didn't think of us as a rival. At least that is the impression I always got from talking to Coastal fans. Rivalries are a two way street. It isn't the same when the animosity is one sided.

Of course you would think that...

Back on track. We are now less than a month from the 2019 season! I haven't been this excited for a football season starting in a long, long time.

Not sure if this has already been noted, but former FSU QB Deondre Francois has transferred to Hampton (our Family Weekend opponent)

au contraire mon frère

Consider a school such as Michigan State. Who is its rival? Who does that team consider as its rival? Some of the best rivalries involve "little brother."
