Playing worse/with less discipline each game doesn't bode well for rebuilding.

Sunday's Word: Rodeo
A few years ago, I got to go to my first "rodeo".
In our family trip to Yellowstone park, my wife, son, and I took a long side trip to Cody, Wyoming to experience something that everyone ought to experience at least once in their lifetimes.
I remember it well - the clowns, team roping, bull riding, the works. The crowd was encouraged to participate, and you couldn't help yourself after a while: you had to, somehow, show your appreciation for the displays of ability that were going on.
I thought back on that "rodeo" a lot when I flew down to Lynchburg, Virginia to take in the Lehigh football game. It was a lot more packed than the "rodeo" I went to in Cody - there's a lot more money in Liberty University than there is in "rodeos" - but, like the show I saw in Wyoming, it wasn't just a football game, it was a spectacle.

He makes catches going across the middle, he makes catches to move the chains but there is no GAME BREAKING type of catch (hitch make em miss) and to the house. There has been no one at the WR possition that I have seen do this, #17 Dutra reminds me basically of the same thing, and #83 because he he probably the fastest is used as the run em off guy and they may be doubling PK #17 sits em down, now like someone else stated earlier either peterson doesnt know plays or something is wrong with him not being able to get on the field.
DB's - other than KF i really havent seen to much out of this group and trust me im looking hard. They are giving up big third downs but also like somebody said gotta have a pass rush to help them out. TBH only person I think has impressed me has been #19 WA with the way they matched him up with the WR from NSU. He only had like one catch on the night. I know KF has the two ints in the endzone on 2pt conversions but as a DB you cant be afraid to gamble, be afraid to make a play, and sometimes there is some hesitancy to do that.
LB's - Bottom line other than #45 a tackling machine this unit has been hit hard with injuries and other reasons for not being a better unit on the field. That can all be resolved and to be honest Ii think in certain situations you could prolly bring #8 Vinson down and play WLB due to the fact that with the defense you played last year he was down there alot anyway.
Agreed on Kelly at WR. He's the Art Monk but this group has no Gary Clark or Ricky Sanders.
I've like the play of Hagen (#27) at S has been solid and he's only a sophomore, so there's one other DB playing decently well. Vinson has been okay as well, and you're right about his tackling being good enough that he might be okay at LB in a few situations.
At LB, Hyland (#30) has seemed to improve each game, but that's still just one guy other than Sigmon making plays.
Injuries have made a difference, but so have scheme changes. The DL is a trainwreck right now, but there is a little bit at LB and DB that may point to some improvement later on.
Im going to have to disagree with you about Hagen, great athlete, but I noticed that every big play in the Wake and NSU was because that he missed the coverage down field. After a big play you would always see him a step behind the receiver. He does not seem to read the QB well....or at all.
I wonder if that could be the reason u have been seeing more of #29 in the game at times and the nicklepackage with #14 KS has been ok at times. I wonder what the deal is with #1 Ayers, from GT thought he would have some more promise, seeing as how everyone was talking about him coming in from a big time school.

The pass attempt on the conversion, well we shouldn't had to attempt it. A Lehigh fan made a comment on AGS about how badly Fogg got burned on that play in the second Q.
Fogg didnt get burned.. Clearly you guys wasn't watching the same game. It was man coverage and Atkins was lined up on the lehigh receiver. The receiver did a drag across the field, which atkins lost him and Fogg just missed the tackle. Fogg locked lehigh receiver down most of the night and so did the rest of the corners. No one really even throws to Fogg's side and if you ask the coaches, fogg has been shutdown this far.

So it was #14 who got burned. Maybe he fell for the pump fake and was trying to get a jump on the ball... but the Lehigh receiver went right by him before he could readjust. The missed Fogg tackle must have been a good bit further down the field. I never was sure of the numbers, but I watched a replay from Lehigh and I saw the missed tackle.
