I am all for accountability in our Athletics Department. I just happen to think that JB is doing much more than window dressing.

Did anyone else see this Lang quote and read more into it?

Maybe he let something slip about our future conference affiliation.
Or maybe I'm just over analyzing.
The caliber of athlete Gill was able to sign was of a bit higher level than that of Flames’ classes in the past. Of the 12 players, four were rated as three-star recruits by Rivals.com or Scout.com, and two more were two-star recruits. The class is Sun Belt heavy, with five signees from Florida, two from Alabama and one from east Texas.
Also, did anyone besides Smoothie and me look at the class that UVa signed? They got 3 players from Norfolk Christian. Here's to hoping that Coach Gill can start getting some DIA caliber players from there, too.

I know that I should I just don't for whatever reason. Part of it is I agree with some of their opinions. I just hate how they go about presenting their opinions.
Just because I "Amen" accountability means I am a foe...that is how we play on Flame Fans. Some of you are so immature and can only walk with fellow :koolaid drinkers. Grow up and lets build the program Doc envisioned. If JB can only handle the window dressing then send him back to development in the SEC.
Not at all the case with me. I am far from a kool-aid drinker but when people on this board make well rounded, good counter arguments to you and your boy ToC's ramblings (some of which I actually agree with) and they are completely ignored. Yet posts by BJ (the most ridiculous kool aid drinker here) are focused on, it makes you look incredibly ridiculous.

Most on here don't think JB is perfect. I am sure all (minus BJ) would admit mistakes have been made. The difference is we don't have a personal connection to someone affected by one of JB's decisions so therefore can look at it objectively.

That is what is frustrating about you and ToC's posts.

I am sure this post will be ignored by you and not addressed at all, but thats cool you can continue to have your martyr complex.

You're overanalyzing.

Just was making the point that much of the class comes from states in the Sun Belt region.

another walk-on

Doug Mulhollen 6-7 260 OLine

http://recruiting.scout.com/a.z?s=73&p= ... id=5460241
As a prospect: At 6-foot-7 and 250 pounds, Mulhollen isn't hard to spot on the football field. That size is legit, too, and he has room to add a whole lot more weight. He has long arms and can move his feet pretty well for a kid his size. He will need to continue getting stronger and becoming a better drive blocker but he has ideal size, some athleticism, and he understands the game well and seems like a coachable kid. In other words, he has a lot of Div 1 caliber tools and will certainly be watched closely in the coming months.

You need 2-3 of these a class. You give a guy like this 3-4 years with kill bill and you suddenly have a 6-7 310 lbs lineman for his Jr and Sr year.

It's great when you can get someone like Grant with the body built ready to play DI from day one but that just isn't how most of these guys develope.

I used to get jacked up about signing day but I just do not anymore because what looks great on paper could end up with a bunch of busts. On paper a very nice class but not signing a QB surprised me. It looks like the sunbelt recruiting has paid off and I love the enthusiasm of the coaching staff.

Just a realist and not a kook aid drinker. Not saying you are but anyone on this board could become a "recruiting expert" with a little extra time.

Actually postie, smoothie has a point. You dont know who is gonna be a contributor, who is gonna be an all time great and who is gonna be a bust on signing day. 4 years from now we can look at the class and say how good it was but we really honestly dont know just how good these kids are going to be.

This class has potential to be best ever at LU. it looks as if we snatched some guys from D1 schools. The future looks bright for LU. We need to find a D1 conference as soon as possible and say goodby to the Big South.

As for the AD, I think we have one of the best in all of NCAA at any level.. Jury is still out on men's basketball though.

I cannot wait for spring practice/spring game.

Oh I know you are playing Manson. I have just learned not to put too much stock in recruiting rankings. It looks like a nice class on paper and I hope these guys will do great things.

I agree with you. It's still fun to see where these guys are rated. Gives us something to do in February.

I wish we could have gotten Josh Hess as another OL. Put him with Brown and Jones and we'd have 3 legit studs on the OL for several years together.

The name on that list that sticks out to me is Selton Hodge. His school in DC is a monster at this point, they had the #1 DT recruit according to ESPN and #2 according to Rivals, and Hodge is the real deal himself. I would say they've passed by schools like Good Counsel and Dematha in the area. I'm actually quite surprised that Hodge didn't go to a bigger school. The HS he attended has a unique setup. No one is allowed to graduate until they are accepted by a 4 year college. It's a tough place that's on par with the top prep schools in the city. The football players do not get the free ride that many private football factories allow, so those kids are starting to be in high demand by FBS/FCS schools with high academic standards.

WR coach Juan Taylor has already given nicknames to his recruits. RI was close on Peterson. He is PeteD. If Faison wants to join flamefans, he will need to use something different for his board name because he is.......... (drum roll)

Can someone in the Sports Information Department help out espn.com and send them an updated signing list? It has been two days and most still think we only signed 3 recruits. Pathetic.
