Our secondary should be solid. We can go 4 deep at corner. Our top corner is Walt Aikens. He’s a transfer from Illinois where he was on the all-freshman team in the Big 10. Legit pro prospect, great size, great athletic ability. Will likely be a shutdown corner at our level. Starting opposite of Aikens is Kajuan Lee who is a 5th year senior. He’s had solid playing time for a good 3 years. Had a terrific Sophomore season with 5 ints and was all-conference. Somewhat of a subpar Junior year. Our 3rd and 4th corners are Ron Hobby (Pittsburgh transfer) and Kevin Fogg (recruited heavily by NC State).

Our 2 starters at safety are Brandon Robinson (SR.) and Ryan Ayers (transfer from Georgia Tech).

Our 2 outside LB’ers are solid. We are young at our 2 ILB positions.

The D-Line is anchored by preseason all-american Asa Chapman. Alongside him we have a rotation of 3 solid ends.

I imagine we will try force you guys to pass and load up the box. We’ve had success doing that with a 4 man front in the past against run first teams (Ball State and JMU).

Forcing us to pass is probably a good strategy...unproven QB with inexperienced WRs (and you say LU has a solid secondary). Not sure how effective our run game will be without returning starter Mustafa Greene. We've still got some talent at RB with James Washington and Curtis Underwood...but they are somewhat inexperienced compared to Greene.

That plus our best in the FCS offense, is why many of us think we have a legitimate shot. I know you guys have a solid D. It’s strength vs strength (our O vs. your D) and weakness vs. weakness (your O vs our D).

Agree - LU's offense and NCS's defense both should be tough, so should be an interesting game.
I saw on ESPN College Preview this weekend that TOB was voted by the ESPN staff to be the first college coach to "blow up" this year. For some reason, they think the QB move was a big mistake, and TOB is going to go off on Glennon, so should be interesting to see what they (ESPN analysts) have observed.
Yes, the FCS vs FBS is a major disadvantage, but I would also say that a "unknown QB status" also qualifies as a major risk.

Asa Chapman was also back for the first time yesterday. Worked in the first half of practice but sat out the second half to rest his knee. He said he felt good. Pat Kelly also said his hamstring was feeling much better.

I can hear Bill Stewart saying that.

With Mike Glennon's move to starter, N.C. State needs a new Plan B at quarterback.

When N.C. State receiver T.J. Graham says a pass "could go anywhere" this season, he's not exaggerating.

Time to prove the VegasInsider and hopefully overconfident NCS wrong on this spread. Looking forward to see if we can realistically win this one by at least 3 - 7 points given how our injury report is looking better and that NCS has a few key players out that have been highlighted earlier.

Methinks that might have been rigged just a little bit.

So how are LU fans supposed to tailgate. Unless you get a parking pass through State or purchased a ticket for the pregame meal. Went to get a parking pass through LU but was disappointed to hear that you cant tailgate in that lot. Wonder if you guys knew any other options.

as someone who has had their share of knee injuries in the last 6 years, its better to sprain the MCL than to tear the ACL. Its still sad news but at least he will be able to return (if he is out next weekend)
