is the non chair backs in the top level considered GA? I was thinking of trying it out this weekend, but I bet it will be more full than the bottom level.

I thought about trying that out too but last night the misses and me went by campus around 8 and the bugs around the stadium lights were so bad. You will want to make sure you don't sit anywhere near the corner lights.

I saw that. They were huge too. It looked like a flock of birds flying around the lights.

The difference even between yesterday and today is pretty amazing. When I toured yesterday, they were still wiring the Pepsi fountains in the concession stands. Today, all of the TVs were put up and food supplies were being trucked in. It'll get done. Lots and lots of people working inside.

I can only go by what i can see on the web but that's gotta be tough to get that exterior masonry work done in this crappy weather. Looks like a lot of plastic tarps in service

Just realized that I can sit in the student section this year -- I'm DLP. Of course, I was last year, but didn't think about it.

Probably still sit on the Baptist side -- my in-laws are too calm for the student section.

Just looked at the Branch Cam to see what looks like puddles to me on the field...again. I would think this would be a growing concern. Sinkholes and puddles don't seem like a good combination.

i have seen some field turf that drains worse than ours. besides lynchburg has had some torrential rains over the past few days. the field will be fine saturday. the practice field? well with all the debris buried there over the years it is not surprising...a lot of rain will make that sinkhole get bigger.

Just got in town and got our first live look at the stadium. I know this is redundant but it is sweet! Hard to appreciate the difference between last year and now until you see it in person all lit up.

Construction wraps up at Williams Stadium on Friday, the day before Liberty hosts Savannah State.

Liberty University athletics director Jeff Barber stood outside his office Thursday afternoon, charcoal suit jacket slung over his shoulder, conducting his fifth media interview of the day about the opening of the renovated Williams Stadium.

He wasn’t necessarily exhausted, though.

“I’m just excited; I feel like I’m floating a little bit,” he said with a laugh.

A very nice article! I thought that the second floor was supposed to be academic center with a classroom which was convertible to a banquet facility. I guess that the plans changed or maybe I missed it somehow. A restaurant does sound like a great idea for the students and those attending the games. I will look forward to seeing all of these improvements if I do come down for a game.

Have you seen the Branch and Associates camera view from the student side? So cool, they have the "Home of the Flames" painted on the side of the tower and it looks like the retired jerseys made like banners on the left side and something else on the right side. Little last minute details, still some more work going on, it looks like HAHA

The new stadium is awesome. Its hard to describe how awesome without you being there. Hopefully everyone out of town can be there for homecoming, I'd hate to miss that!

Thanks for the pics, PAmedic. But would it kill everybody to at least give us one look at the new Sparky?
I took some video but I'm so far away you can't hardly see it sorry.
