The thing about the fireworks...LU planned to have fireworks after the homecomming at Williams Stadium during my junior year of 1997.

Well, we went into overtime against Hampton. I think Hampton intercepted a pass to win the game...(I think they had already made a touchdown during their tun)...so immediately after that, the fireworks started b/c the game was over.

I've never seen such a bizarre reaction...oh we lost...and look, now there's fireworks...

Hopefully this won't be a problem this year.

This exact thing happened when we traveled to Youngstown state in 2008. Bevins hit the amazing field goal to win the game at youngstown and the fireworks went off right after. really eerie.

Yeah, we're all still waiting on the Rock Royer rock. Speaking of which, based on my interpretation of Scripture I have a feeling Coach Royer is up in heaven thrilled to see where the football program has come from his humble beginnings. What a legacy for him and Dr. Falwell.

They've also put a "back" on the scoreboard/jumbotron, so the steel is no longer exposed (looks like a billboard surface now).

I had read that they were going to do something to the back and then noticed what it looked like a couple of days ago. Is that the finished product?

I noticed that this morning and was wondering if it was new or I had just not noticed before.

Yep, definitely new. And, yes. This should be the finished product.

Thanks for the update Manson

Just looked at the Branch picture, the stadium looks better every time I check it. I wish I was down in Virginia to check it out.

Stadium projects have always fascinated me so it's been cool seeing this thing getting built.

Probably ten minutes after you posted this, the skies opened up (and God said I hate you alfalfa - sorry, I couldn't resist) and we had the worst rain/storm I have ever seen here at LU. Trees down, and flooding. Pretty intense. Not going to lie, I was a little worried about all the glass on the back side of the building.

Did you happen to see a guy with green shorts and a white shirt and a girl with a grey shirt on running in the rain? That was me. We got DRENCHED!
