I'll say congratulations for going toe to toe with a team that beat Penn State a couple years ago. Sounds like a heartbreaking loss and I'm sorry for that guys. Hopefully you'll rebound when your team takes the field again.

I won't apologize for what I said.

I said it, and I meant it.

Our coaches have done a great job so far turning around a 1-10 program that got completely stoned by UConn and W&M 2 yrs ago. Saturday morning if you had told me we'd be hanging around at the end, I'd have been delighted.

having said that- we were promised "good to great" this year and we aren't getting it. we won the first 58:14 minutes of that game and managed to lose.

we're good. At times. we're not great- not close to it.

and I truly believe the play calling last night cost us. Say what you will- for whatever reason, we went away from what was working- and it cost us.




To become "great" the coaching staff will need to make better decisions during games, and if the personnel is the problem here- then recruit better kids. No, its not easy- never said it was. Nor am I a coach. So feel free to ignore me. But as a financial supporter of the program- I take a personal interest in it. I also tend to get emotionally involved.

I too am a supporter of this team as well. I didn't think they would have done this well as evidenced in my post last week on the predictions page. I was happy the team hung with Toledo as well as they did. The fan side of me was disappointed because a win would have been great, but the realist was expecting a loss. I AM OKAY with it. I wish I had my laptop on to watch the game but I was getting updates on my Blackberry, I will not criticize something I did not see or hear.

As a Flames Club memeber I see this program moving forward. It's a better product than the Karcher product. I want this program to excel to recruit better players because I like to see winning football. But that is about 25% of why I support this team, the other 25% is because I like being fans of players who do not throw punches and lose their cool on the field and show character to their opponents and who are not getting arrested like players for other schools in the area. The othwr 50% is I want to be part of a football program and a University that wants to Glorify Jesus Christ and recruit kids to shape them to impact the world for God and to come to know His Son as their Savior.

Therefore I will not resort to name calling as tempting as it may be to vent my frustrations. I am a fan second but a lover of God and what this school and football program is trying to achieve Greatness in Jesus Christ. Lets not forget why we are fans of Liberty University it's not the football program obviously its God that is why we are LOYAL not LOYALISH. Go FLAMES

I hope your happy at least about the shirts. now we have the whole student side being red for the whole game because after thousands of people complained to Dr. Kerr, Jeff Barber stepped in and made something happen.

i was not there, but i listened to it and yeah you could second guess play calling, but the bototm line is the defense did not make the stops in the end...end of story. props to SJ for reeling himself in afetr the comments he made. this is a messageboard to vent and question, but sometimes we should all step back from the keyboard and relax before we post. we can still win the big south which is an attainable goal, and i feel we will. now everyone who has questioned rocco and his staff, pickup the phone and call in tuesday night and ask the coach. i have no problem with venting and second guessing, but if want an answer call in.

and I will send an e-mail...I can't call in because I am working, but I do listen and I have sent in an e-mail the past two weeks...and I will be e-mailing again this week...maybe not looked upon as good as a phone call, but some of us are busy most of the day 5 days a week

postie you seem to get upset everytime i talk about calling in. e-mail, do whatever, but i am busy daily as well and i seem to get a quick phone call in. but as SJ said anything is good.

would you like me to post my schedule online?? Monday is basically the only day I have free time in the evening....I get upset because its as if you thing because people don't call they must not be as big of fans as you...it may not be what you mean, but thats how it comes off, I have 17 credit hours and work 2 jobs 45-50 hours a week...i am not complaining about how busy I am because I brought it on myself...but its by far the busiest semester I have ever had
