Maybe he thought the rules or e-mails from Barber to him.....just didn't apply for him?

Fumble,

The band has always had shirts that went along with the show (that's a drum corps thing)...When I was in it we had black and blue shirts one year b/c we were doing a blues brothers show...and then a year later it was white with rainbow colors (funny story about that in Shippensburg thread).

When I was in band...you had to wear your shirt to rehersals. Thankfully, BJ has informed us this is no longer the case.

ANyway, They've had all kinds of different color shirts. This was the first year that people really noticed that they weren't school colors. That's probably why he was surprised.

I'm all for the red shirts! I think it's better to be school colors...

Also, at one time our uniforms didn't really match the school. The band uniforms were the same...but the football jerseys were a lighter blue with bright red helmets. They didn't match at all. It's sort of funny, but the football team's uniforms have actually changed over time from light blue to navy, with a darker red...and now they match the band, haha! I'm glad that worked out that way, though.

When I was in the band, you showed up for practice however you could -- usually casual shirts and blue jeans for me, though there were many who had to march in class dress because they had to leave early for a class. We had to wear white T-shirts under our uniforms -- plain white Haynes beefy tees, no logos nor nothin'. Then we had the contest to create the band logo, and got T-shirts with the logo on it. Still white, but with red and blue.

But we didn't take our uniform jackets off unless it was hot -- sometimes in September, but not often. Only time we did it for a whole game was before we left for the Giants/Cowboys game in NY -- we marched in jeans and T-shirts, and people complained. We left during the third quarter to head north, though -- the uniforms were packed.

We actually did the jeans and band shirt thing for the very first game last season...but tht was because it was raining the whole day and all the way up to and through the game.

That's anyone wanted. Kudos to Dr. Kerr for fixing the mistake.
