Take it easy on the man ... if he sells the sacrifice properly it can be VERY beneficial to the relationship if he so chooses.

I'm with you Sly on this one. These single guys don't understand the chess matches that go on in a relationship over things like this.

I realize the "chess matches" that go on, but I let my wife know from day one that I will be attending ALL LU home games unless there is an emergency. It was rough for the first couple of years, but now there is no problem. If something comes up on one of those dates, I just say, honey LU plays that day. She gets the message and we don't plan anything on those dates. It's only 6 days out of the year!

Old Married man here. I'm with Sly and Scar. (Wait, that sounds like a band: Sly and Scar - Live at the MegaPlex Ampatheater this Friday only). Anyway, I digress. Let her have the win now and then when the bigger games are here later she will say "Honey, I think you should go to the LU game this Weekend." It's a give and take. At least if you want to stay married.

Agreed. I give her my good looks and, in turn, take regularly prepared meals.

I agree Knucklehead. It's really a fine line to walk to keep boh parties happy. It also depends on the situation of what it is that is being planned. I was planning on going to Elon, but I'm not going to be able to because my wife has been begging me to let her go see her aunt in Delaware and I agreed to letting her go that weekend without realizing it was the same weekend of Elon. I didn't fight that one though. I'll just go to Gardner Webb instead!

Great now I'm getting hungry thinking of my wife's Chicken and Dumplings and the greatest Mashed potatos in the world.

It's an ugly business. I imagine you also couldn't fight watching "The Notebook".

Football and Madden time are sacred in the SCAR Household. I get asked to sacrifice every now and then but I do most of my sacrificing at Christmas time when, lets just say, every Christmas the past 10 years for me has been a "white" Christmas  I was asked to go to Michigan for one of the later games in the season and I did what JC did. I just said, there's a Liberty game that week. The reply was, can't you miss one game? My response was there are only 6 in the whole year. I am not sure yet but I think I won  For those interested in Madden at the tailgate, just know that my ranking in the world is now in the top 600 and moving up on PS2. So don't expect to get any W's against me

So, Scar, I'd guess you don't dream of a "white" Christmas? Right?

What I meant was, that because I have to go to Northern Michigan where there is snow on the ground from November to March that every Christmas has been a white Christmas. What did you guys THINK I meant?  :P . Love the Bing Crosby version of that song btw.

Never seen that one, thank goodness. For me she made me watch "Gone with the wind" for the first time as a newleywed. She's named after one of the characters and I'd never seen it. Wish I never did and will never again.

Just wondering.....do you guy's have kids? Sometimes you're not just battling the wife, but also the kids wishes. You'll find the older you get, sometimes your priorities in life get changed around a bit.

Most of us have more than a few kids. But I'd like to remind everyone that we've veered ...

see though, she has been looking forward to the game for a while too. She loves college football, but is a ND and OSU fan, im getting her more into Liberty Athletics now though. We wouldnt be going home this weekend but her entire family is coming home for the weekend and we dont want to be the only ones not there. I dont have anything to worry about about her not letting me go to football games, as i mentioned her uncle gets us free tickets to ND games. This is more brownie points with her parents for me.

Does the Liberty Chanel have a live stream of some sorts so I can catch the game or do I have to listen to it on the radio?
