Liberty does plenty of wrong, but I choose not to nit pick over a pimple or 2 on an otherwise clean face. I also have always hated the quickness most sports fans to go to fire the coach when something isn't just perfect. Remember, my NFL team is still smarting after turning loose Shottenheimer after a huge season.

Is there any real chance there is a head coaching change this off season?

I don't blame coaches for Bradwell not going to class. I blame them for putting their eggs in his basket and not bringing anyone else in last year while it was happening.

It honestly depends on Jeff's frame of mind. One side says his track record is keeping coaches around as long as possible and giving them chance after chance. The other says he may have learned from basketball and will make a change that's potentially early so as not to go through that again.

It also depends on who he is talking to. Will he go outside of his circle on this one and ask others in the business?

In short, Jeff's track record says no. But his track record also has him not skipping football games too. We are a special teams Hail Mary from this being a no brainer though. Gill owes his next two years at Liberty to Chima.

That's football though. The rest of the team played 4 quarters to put him in that position. You could say that if the weather was decent for the Villanova game, we would've been heading on to the next round playing SHSU and maybe on to Fargo after that. We beat three teams last year that we shouldn't have. Before last weekend, App had only lost one game since us and that was Clemson earlier this year

He won it and definitely deserves credit for it. I was pointing out how small of a difference there is between success and longevity and not producing.

Only if Gill takes a 'bigger' job

I don't see any circumstance where a "bigger" program would even consider him for a head coaching position at this point.

His name still holds a lot of weight for whatever reason. You can see that with our fans.

Agreed. I was just giving the only scenario where there would be a head coaching change

I think it's about time that Super gives us another one of his infamous "girl at the prom" analogies.

Gill is the girlfriend you date after you divorce your first wife. She's pretty solid with no glaring issues but over the course of a few years you realize while she's a solid girlfriend, she's not wife material.

It's a bad spot for us to be in. I think you have to give him another year or you look like your pulling the plug too quick from the outside. By the same token he will be starting a new qb and replacing lots of pieces meaning you would really be committing to 2 more years. I don't know what to do. It's frustrating and certainly not a position I expected to be in after georgia state. I want to see how we come out Thursday. If weverything pull it together and win I'll feel a little better. If we mail it in and get trucked with nothing to play for I would pull the cord.

This is exactly why I say do it now. If not, you can't make a change until after the 2017 season. We can't afford mediocre years. The fans will stop showing up and we will settle in at 14-15,000 per game.

If you don't think Gill can get us to the playoffs in 2016 or 2017, you have to make the change this year.

Super, I appreciate your drive for this program to make it to elite status. I think we all want LU to flourish, but reality is You or I can't look into a crystal ball and see what the teams final record will look like. So, to say now is the time to fire Gill is an absolute ridiculous reaction. I tell you this from a coach's perspective, when you get rid of a cancer like person on your team its incredible what things can happen on the positive side. I for one am looking forward to Josh Woodrum being gone from this team. Yes, his stats have been quite good, but his leadership and competitive drive this season has been anything but desirable. I really believe next years team will have a hunger to win like never before because of the recruits GILL has brought in. Again, I want to reiterate Super, I do appreciate your loyalty to putting a good product on the field. I just think your comments about firing Gill now are extremely pre-mature!

I don't think he thinks Josh is a cancer though. If he did then JW would not be a captain. At least that is my view.

Your idea of wife material and mine are 2 different things. Like 'There are girls you bed and girls you wed'. (Thanks the Filtered version )

For Damian King's sake please give the fumble to Dante Shells. King was not in on that play and would probably appreciate you correcting the record. Thanks.
No, it was Damian King who fumbled it.
