You have to have balance if you aren't two steps faster or stronger than your opponent.
I agree with you for the most part. Listen to his explanation though.

News & Advance wrote:Kelly rises above crowd as one of Flames' top passing targets

When Pat Kelly was an LCA junior, he high jumped 6 feet in both the indoor and outdoor state championships. What does this have to do with Kelly’s value as a wide receiver at Liberty? Everything, really.

"Pat has a real gift for being able to go up and catch the ball," Liberty coach Danny Rocco said. "It kind of sounds elementary for a wide receiver, doesn’t it? But a lot of receivers that catch a lot of balls don’t have that knack. He can see the ball in the air. He can adjust to the ball in the air. He can control his body."

He's basically saying that he wants to get the run game going but he's not going to do it stubbornly at the expense of scoring points in other ways.

that makes sense...it is good to be balanced, but when you score as much as we do the way we do, its good to keep with what works.

Sean Shapiro picks us!!!
No. 13 James Madison Dukes (1-1) at No. 22 Liberty Flames (1-1), 7 p.m. (CAA TV)

Series record: James Madison leads, 11-5

Last meeting: at James Madison 10, Liberty 3 (Sept. 25, 2010)

What to know: Liberty quarterback Mike Brown has impressed this season, throwing for 488 yards and rushing for another 120 for five total touchdowns. While Brown has impressed in 2011, the quarterback has a bit of a chip on his shoulder after the Dukes kept the Liberty offense out of the end zone last when the teams met last season.

James Madison has allowed 747 yards of total offense this season; However, that number is inflated due to a loss to North Carolina in Week 1.

With that loss behind them, the Dukes defense returned to form and didn't allow Central Connecticut State to score a touchdown until one second was left on the clock in a 14-9 victory.

While the defense impressed, James Madison needs to find something to spark its dormant offense. Having scored only 24 points (three touchdowns, one field goal) this season, the Dukes could be in trouble if Liberty's offense gets on a roll early.

Prediction: Liberty 24, James Madison 17

I like what Shapiro said on Twitter too:
JMU-Liberty (7 EST) and EWU-Montana (3 EST) by far the biggest Top-25 games this weekend, both should be good, very close, games.

I think the first 5 possessions for each side are going to set the course for the game. If Liberty gets out to a 2 or three TD lead in the first 5 drives, its gonna be a rout. If its like 3-3 or 7-3 or a score like that, I think it could favor the Dukes

This will be a defensive slugfest. Look for LU's Mike Brown to direct a late drive to lead the Flames to their first win against a CAA opponent in eight years.

Route has an "e". But the more I thought about it, in an App. State prediction, it probably doesn't matter.... :D

By the way, you do your fans a great service by covering so many of the FCS games. So many people treat FCS as a regional type deal. If The Sports Network were ever to call....

10 possessions? That's only like one half. Do u really think the course of a football game can be set in one half?

Lang is terrific. I think he's the best at the FCS level.

Appreciate it.

But ... rout is correct in the story. Route is a road. Rout is a blowout.

Yeah I really think so. I'll even make it the first 12:

2010:

St Francis-
First LU possession missed FG
First St Fran possession- TD
Second LU possession- ToD
Second St Fran possession- PUNT
Third LU possession- FG
Third St Fran possession- PUNT
Fourth LU possession- PUNT
Fourth St Fran possession- PUNT
Fifth LU possession- TD
Fifth St Fran possession- INT
Sixth LU possession TD
Sixth St Fran possession- PUNT

LU never trails again

Ball State-

First Ball State possession- PUNT
First LU possession- TD
Second Ball State possession- FG
Second LU possession- TD
Third Ball State possession- ToD
Third LU possession- PUNT
Fourth Ball State possession- PUNT
Fourth LU possession- missed FG
Fifth Ball State possession- missed field goal
Fifth LU possession- INT Pick 6
Sixth Ball State possession- TD
Sixth LU possession- Blocked FG

Ball State takes the lead and LU ends up in a dogfight (win)

I could go through every game like this but my point is that if we get out to a good size lead and dont let off the gas, we win easily. Its when we let the other team stay around (see Presbyterian 2008) or get off to a slow start (see CCU or JMU last year) when things can turn

I stand corrected...although nobody's ever corrected me when I've done the opposite.

one of many recruits that are coming
York Football has a lot of “go to” guys, but the literal “Big Man on Campus” has to be lineman Hayden Crockett. Crockett plays both offensive and defensive line for the Falcons and he’s attracted significant college attention. He made his most recent college visit on Saturday and has another one this weekend. It’s the season for official visits. Where’s Hayden headed?

James Madison University Football had one of their biggest days in their Football history this past weekend. On Saturday, the Dukes christened a newly renovated Bridgeforth Stadium with a win over Central Connecticut State in front of over 25,000 fans. Hayden Crockett (SR OL/DL 6-4 300) was on hand for the season opener, and he was thoroughly impressed with game day at JMU.

“It was great,” said Crockett. “We went on a tour of the athletic center, they had a lunch set up for us before the game, and we also got to walk down on the field during warmups. The stadium is awesome. The coaches make you feel like you’re at home.”

Of course the welcome mat was rolled out for Crockett and the other recruits taking their visit, but the enthusiasm of the fans and a JMU win really got him pumped about the Dukes.

“Our seats were right next to the student section. The game atmosphere was crazy. The pride that the JMU students take in the football team blows me away,” Hayden said.

Crockett will follow his James Madison visit with a trip to Liberty University this weekend. The interesting twist for his Liberty visit is that he’ll get to see the Dukes again.

“I plan on heading up to Lynchburg to watch Liberty and JMU square off. It should be another great game. I’m looking forward to seeing them play,” the lineman said.

Crockett doesn’t have an official offer from either school yet, but they’re showing a lot of interest. Hayden compared the two schools and he’s seeing them as equals at the moment.

“They thing that (I like) about JMU was the coaches. Coach Edmonds is a great coach. He really takes the time to get to know you,” Crockett explained. “But on the other hand, Liberty is a great school and I really like it. I family in the area. I will know more when I go to the game on Saturday. Liberty’s facilities are great.”

Both schools offer good opportunities for Hayden. He’s still waiting for the first offer, you can expect it won’t be long. It might take only one offer for him to make his decision.

I know Beej. I was being a little sarcastic, but it didn't come off well I guess. My point was, the course of the majority of games is set in the first 10 possessions. That's a lot of football.

Been a little busy lately, sarcasm skills are a bit rusty. Btw buddy, thank you for the kind words recently. :)

I'm hoping we can jump out to an early 1st quarter lead. If we do, I wouldn't be surprised if we won by a couple scores. If we don't, it will be decided late in the 4th.

One thing that I think will be a little bit different than a normal home game, is I think the opposing team is normally pretty pumped up by the energy in the air. Most teams don't see this type of atmosphere and even though it's hostile, it's inspiring for them. But JMU just saw an even larger crowd at home last week. I'm not sure if they had 10k students, and I know they didn't have that many hostile ones right behind them, but I just don't think it will effect them like it does most teams. Good or bad.
