Even if youre trying to be funny LUconn, neither of those two a) played football in college b) started their careers at a FBS/1-A school

I wonder if NC State knows they need to be preparing for 2 - top notch FBS quality cornerbacks..who will shut their receivers down....not just some "Reception Come Easy" FCS guys ?

I wonder if this is due to his speed? Should be interesting to see if he is on the same side of the field Aikens is on.

Why do you hate me LUconn...you gave two examples that are completely unrelated to the point that was being made and so I made sure that it was duly noted...and our fair scribe has noted that he is being moved to a position that in the coaching staff's eyes is a better use of his talents and abilities

I think it probably has more to due with Claiborne leaving.

I think both probably played a part...with Claiborne leaving, that created a need at safety, and they probably felt that a player with Ayers' speed would be a good fit there since, as the article noted, he played that position all through high school

Sad to see him go, but he probably saw the writing on the wall. He didnt make that big a splash in the kick/punt return game and certainly didnt put himself in a position to make the DB rotation either. Unless he goes to a D2, D3 or NAIA school he wont see the field in 2013, and as I said, scouts are going to remember his transferring before.

He was a backup last year but I swore him playing some safety, I wonder what happened that he couldn't get in the rotation, but def agree with the PR part, in the few opportunities way too many fair catches, or not making something happen. Just hope it's nothing really bad, that makes him walk away from the game.

Not really spectacular (like top 5 at their position) but Demaryius Thomas is coming into his own, Keith Brooking has been a solid player for a number of years as well...but Johnson is the only "elite" player.

BJ... I don't know how you are ranking your Top 5 for each Position, but after looking at the stats for the 2012 Regular Season I think you should probably rethink your categorization of D. Thomas.

http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/stats/play ... _1:col_1=6

#8 by Receptions
#4 by Total Yards gained
#4 by Avg. Yards/gm
#8 by Avg. Yards per catch (counting only those that played 16 gms)
#2 by Catches of 20+ yds
#6 by Catches of 40+ yds
#5 by TD catches

His average ranking for all categories is about 5.3. You could argue that it was only one season I guess... but to think he won't post more seasons like that if he and PM are healthy is silly. I think he's much better than simply being labeled as "coming into his own" and he by the numbers was probably a Top 5 Player in his position last year.

If you look at his numbers season to season, Thomas had himself a breakout season last year with Peyton Manning throwing him the ball, almost tripling his yards and receptions and more than doubling his TDs compared to 2011. To have the kind of improvement he had from year two to year three is certainly "coming into his own". He will be in the fourth year of his rookie contract and with another big year could keep himself on a track to make a very significant pay raise when his contract is up after the 2015 season, if not sooner.
Are we back?

Nice! Here is to hoping we can live bot free.
