The final down of Nick Sigmon’s high school football career came at an ACC venue, as he led Northside High School to a state championship at Virginia Tech’s Lane Stadium.

The first down of his college career will come at another ACC field in 13 days, North Carolina State’s Carter-Finley Stadium. And it appears Sigmon will be a starter that evening when Liberty takes on the Wolfpack.

I'm not surprised at all. The first time I saw video of Nick I knew we had something. He has a real nose for the football.

I remember seeing Nick on local sports highlight shows a couple years ago and was thrilled when he picked Liberty. I really felt he would be a special player then and even more so now. Best thing is we have four years to see just how special he will be.

A 4 yr starter at the Mike? That's like having a 4 yr starter at QB. This kid has to have all the intangibles in order to win this job. Looking forward to seeing him play for 4 years.
