I thought I heard Vrabel went against owner/GM/scouts to draft him. It got weird and then downright toxic there very quickly.

Forget Tennessee. Focus on how good you’ve got it now.

Love was hurt during the game today. Malik came in and led a game winning field goal drive with the game tied. He threw a touchdown pass earlier in the game.

What FACTS? If you said, "considering that I make all my comments based on my emotions," then that would be true statement.

Consider this fact...in 1989 the Dallas Cowboys sent Herschel Walker and some draft picks to the Vikings for some players and eight draft picks. Dallas used those picks to get players like Emmitt Smith (Hall of Fame running back), Darren Woodson (Pro Bowl safety), and Russell Maryland (Pro Bowl defensive tackle). Those draft picks won 3 super bowls and Minnesota went nowhere and Walker made very little impact.
Now, how is Malik to Green Bay better than that?

And, I love the fact that Malik is in Green Bay! I'm happy that he's in that locker room rather than the dumpster fire in Tennessee. It's a great trade for Malik, and a great trade for we fans who love Malik, but FACTS?

I'm not sure if malik is making the packers look like geniuses after that trade or if its the other way around but at minimum he's establishing himself as a valuable backup that might stick around in the league for awhile longer. I was worried he was going to find himself playing in the XFL or whatever they are calling it nowadays by the spring if he stayed in Tennessee. That doesn't seem to be a concern anymore.

Malik isn't the 2nd coming of Mahomes, but he's way better than the Titans knew. To go from being a 3rd stringer on the verge of being cut to being a legit backup with a 3-0 record and a higher QBR than the formers own starting QB clearly demonstrates the value of coaching and the culture of the team. LaFleur is a great coach and his system elevates Malik's strengths. Watching the videos in the locker room after the games, it's clear that is a tight knit group with a solid culture.

I don't have time to write an essay listing all the facts, but I will add, "in my opinion, it's the best trade "

So you think, as of right now, that is a better trade than, for example, the Cowboys and Vikings 1989? "Best trade in NFL history"
I'm partly giving you a hard time, because we all are swayed by being fans, but sometimes.....the analytical side of me can't let it go. :D

Yeah. That was the first trade that came to my mind as well

He has quickly endeared himself to the fanbase up there, both on the field and off. It's awesome to see comment after comment content to let Love sit until he's fully healed because they trust Malik to come in and be a solid QB2.

Couldn't be happier for him.

Malik rounded out his first regular season in Green Bay today while playing in ~70% of the Packers' loss to Chicago. On the year:

7 Games Played
40 Completions on 54 Attempts (74.1%)
Passing: 550 Yards, 3 TD, 0 INT
Rushing: 20 Carries for 138 Yards, 1 TD
8 Sacks, 1 Fumble
124.8 RTG, 79.5 QBR

All in all, I'm thrilled for how this year went for him. The good:
- Won every start, including a revenge game vs. TN
- Came in and led a come-from-behind victory vs. Jacksonville
- 0 INT! He did a fantastic job protecting the football, which is mission-critical for an NFL backup QB.
- He made some excellent throws. His footwork looks much improved, and he looks much more comfortable and patient in the pocket.
- After a few years of enduring the ire of the TN fanbase, he has become something of a fan favorite (by backup QB standards) in Green Bay. Beyond steadying the ship when called upon, he gave some class-act answers in his press conferences and did some neat work in the community.

He can still grow in moving off his first read, and he's not immune to holding the ball too long. But at the very least, he easily bought himself another year in Green Bay and quite possibly opportunities beyond.

Love to see it.

I just don't want him to end up at a substandard franchise. The sudden blossoming of several league players this year after making team changes seems to point to the increasing disparity of leadership that exists across the league. The Packers are one of the best run teams, so it's no surprise that Malik did well in his games there. It's hard NOT to like him, even if he has a rough game.
