The only games that I don't expect to win from here on out are the ACC games. I'm chuggin' the Kool Aid on this team. I think the Coastal game will be tight, maybe a come from behind thing, but I think this team can win it. And I think the ACC games will be closer than anyone expects.

As long as they don't start believing their own hype, this could be a really good team. This could be 2018-19 Basketball special.

All depends on the defense. After the WKU game, I was concerned about the secondary. After the FIU game, I am concerned about the run defense. In other words, that's the side of the ball that will ultimately determine how successful we are this year. That being said, I think we win a shootout with one of the ACC teams or CCU and end up 7-3. On a side note, my son and I are already counting on going to the bowl game no matter where it's being played. Last year's Cure Bowl experience was incredible.

My point in mentioning the NY6 is that I think Liberty could be a top G5 if not necessarily THE top G5 as an independent. Someone who could garner that NY6 bid every once in a while but still is someone who is a player on a year to year basis

Why do we keep saying this? I fully expected “Liberty Moments” under TG but I don’t recall one of those last year with HF who is a much better coach so why do we still expect it? Is it just cause we’re not far enough removed from our history of those moments?

I would say we may be seeing one presently....

40% is way too high, in my opinion. First time in Carrier Dome is a tough experience, even without fans. I don’t give us much chance up there.

Would LOVE to see it though. Hate the Orangemen going back to before McNabb.

My expectation is 5 - 5, we pull a Liberty against either ULM or Southern Miss but not both, beat Western Carolina, and we lose to the 3 ACC teams plus Coastal. On paper we should be 6 - 4, and I'd love for us to be 7 - 3 and I think even 8 - 2 is realistic, but based on history not likely.

You may be correct, but we never had a Coach Freeze and company. We went 8-5 when we shouldn't have last season.

Analytics have it around a 25% chance.

Maybe its just me but i dont consider losing to a big10 team in year 2 of fbs “typical liberty”. The face we thought we could win that game was different. Typical liberty is st francis, presby, robert morris etc and multiple times choking against relatively even de facto big south title games against stony brook, coastal & csu.

I agree that maybe losing to the worst of the Big 10 in our second year of FBS isn't "pulling a Liberty," but when I say "pull a Liberty," I mean losing a game that we have no business losing - essentially all the games you just mentioned.

Coach Freeze showed us last year that the "curse of Morgan Hout" is GONE.

Coach Hout is the best coach LU has ever had. HF will probably catch him this year. Rock Royer was undoubtedly the most dynamic. I think God just needed a good coach in heaven and Rock was His choice.
