There will always be parts of the FCS I miss but this experiment with FBS independence has gone nearly perfectly for us so far. I still stand by what I said but I'm glad things are going so well.

Wr will be a position to watch. I didnt expect shaa to be targeted so much but with frith and yarborough out we really lack size. Lofton is the guy we will need to step up if those guys keep getting banged up.

pleasantly surprised. i underestimated the boys for sure. We need a kicker, we need to lessen the penalties, and Malik needs to hold on to the rock better were the most glaring things i observed.

As we wrap up week 1 and our focus shifts to our home opener with FIU, the crew over at A Sea of Red provide a snap shot of our matchup this past weekend with WKU.

3 Questions moving forward:

1. What was the highlight of the WKU game for you?

2. What was the thing that surprised you the most?

3. What is the #1 thing you would like to see improve before Saturday?

1. Deferring and getting a 3 and out on the first 2 defensive series. Sent a message about how the staff feels about our D.
2. How good our front 7 played on D.
3. Passing game, but honestly if we can keep running like that, I am just fine.

1. THe easy answer here would be the crazy catch by Yarborugh (sp?) but I would say the first touchdown by Willis. We sent a strong message with that drive and set the tone for the rest of the game I believe
2. Probably the spark Shedro Louis gave to the running game
3. Malik Willis' ball security. He has got to hold onto that ball like it's one of his children, especially given that he isn't gonna be able to fall back on top of it, especially against a faster defense.

3 Questions moving forward:

1. What was the highlight of the WKU game for you? Three rushing TDs by Willis.

2. What was the thing that surprised you the most? No interceptions and no lost fumbles by a new dual threat junior QB who hasn't started since high school.

3. What is the #1 thing you would like to see improve before Saturday? Willis being more protective with the ball when he's running.

*Cannot name just one highlight because I was so impressed with our ground game.

1. Malik's ability to scramble and make plays as well as our running backs / O-line gets equal kudos = Touchdowns everytime
2. Running Game made possible by our O Line (SUPER PROUD OF THE OLINE)
3. Kicking game (not punting)

My #1 was not just one highlight...but a series of great runs
