I was at the Wake baseball game Tuesday. Wake folks are pretty excited about playing ND at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte 2020. Tickets go on sale a year before the game and are not part of either teams’ season ticket package.

Using the "common sense" approach, no. But the ACC for some reason ($$$$$) wanted the Boston TV market. It's 1493 miles from Miami to Boston. Teams 1493 miles apart, should not be in same conference. ACC teams have probably spent more on travel to BC, than they have reaped from Boston TV market.
When current contract is up, ACC should divorce Notre Dame completely, and have nothing to do with Irish. Don't even play them in regular season games in any sport.

When NCAA has a big meeting, they always invite all the conference commissioners AND THE NOTRE DAME ATHLETIC DIRECTOR. This proves that ND gets special treatment from NCAA.
The love of money is slowly ruining college sports.

The ragtag Indy Alliance concept was thrown out by a media member a few months ago as an option for 13th game for ND - but had 8 teams divided in to 2 divsisions requiring ND to play 3 teams a year that they normally wouldn’t - that is a no go - HOWEVER - NCAA doesn’t stipulate anything about teams having to play head to head - so in theory you could have 8 teams and create own parameters for who is in Champ game. A complete work around but if ND, BYU, ARMY, LU put it together - NCAA would not try to interfere - similar to Hoops and how they get around max game schedule by creating “tournaments” that are played over weeks in different venues. ND needs a 13th game but wants to stay Independent - all other Independents would kill to have a champ game and ND associated. It is doable and most importantly makes $ which drives everything. The Alliance would structure and placate to all things ND wants and we would all be happy with it - BYU would be in as long as Champ game wasn’t on a Sunday. In addition the 7 other teams can play each other every year if so desired to assist in scheduling ease. Now that Big 12 instituted a Champ Game - ND is only other legit power team left with 12 games and it is a big deal and nearly cost them a spot in Playoff last year.

It would have been good if ND had missed playoffs. SEC had several teams better than ND. NCAA should have forced ND into Big 10, years ago.

I keep forgetting I am speaking to a socialist democrat so talking about this, or anything, in a rational way is probably useless. :D

All the talk of fairness is ridiculous. Notre Dame is still a valuable brand name and brings eye balls. It is as simple as that and it's a smart agreement for both the ACC and ND. Fair or not that is how the world works when money is involved.

And yet another one of my brilliant plans gets torpedoed by a click of the Google button...ha! I was going off what that guy wrote - Guess we would have to have ND lobby for a waiver like Big 12 did in 2016 - not sure what the reasoning is behind this rule - we all know player safety reasoning is a crock...

Why are people so worried about Notre Dame ? When all is said and done, and clock hits 00:00, Notre Dame is bad for college sports, regardless of how many fans they have. Every team should have to play by same rules. Under current setup , ND has their own rules.

I'm not worried about Notre Dame but you keep whining about things not being fair and it's like listening to my kids except worse since you're a grown man who should have learned this lesson long, long ago.

But you do you...

Happy Easter weekend to you.

When ballcoach talks about following the rules, he doesn't mean LU. We are the exception, not ND! Get it right!

Liberty should be pushing for a similar with CUSA if we can’t get into the conference. It would cement our bowl spot. ND can take one of the ACC bowl bids.
