Gregg Storey has moved to the DL per the online roster. Maybe this has been noted elsewhere, but it's the first I've seen of it. 6'5" 315lb big man. If he catches on quick, he and Greene could be a tough duo in the middle.

It would be nice to see Storey develop into what Dominique Davis was.

Quick note on Austin Jones, he was rated a 3 star recruit out of high school. I know he has been hurt throughout his career at Tech but IF he is healthy he could become a threat for our team this year and maybe take some pressure off of BJ Farrow.

One other addition I am excited to see play in an LU uniform is Aaron Glover. I know earlier in the Spring his name was dropped on the the forum. But lets not forget what kind of talent he could be. He was a hard commit to the University Hawaii with interest from other FBS schools like UNC and ECU. ECU did send him a scholarship but then after academic problems he was dropped by both Hawaii and ECU. We are fortunate to get this guy who was rated has high as the number 100 outside line-backer in all of high school football. He was rated as a 3 star recruit and ran the 40 in 4.68. Again, none of us can look into a crystal ball and tell how a guy is going to pan out in a football program but he does have the athletic ability and talent to be a game-changer type of outside linebacker for us.

quote from Gill on the defense, "in my 5 years at Liberty this is by far the fastest unit we have had." Aaron Glover is part of that unit and will be exciting to see play the line-backer position hopefully this year.

Another name which no longer appears on the roster is Michael Anderson, a FR defensive end Just prior to the season Singletary compared him to Juwan Wells at the same stage and said they want to redshirt him, but he may be too good

And while we are talking roster changes, here is an addition He is a 6'5" 295 Freshman TE from Latvia

You are right, but Liberty hasn't utilized talented TEs nearly enough in the last 10 years.

Careful - last time I said this - I was told I was crazy and Gill utilizes TE every game. They weren't here when Green, Carswell were here and TE was an essential part of the offense. We used to kill teams with our TE.

Interesting that they list the Latvian kid as a TE He must have some skills, or they would just put him at OL (which may very well be where he ends up anyway) Who knows if he will ever see the field, But I can tell you that Michael Anderson definately would have starting next year I would really like to know what happened there

Put it to you this way: Brandon Apon (I am biased, but facts are facts) was the most versatile TE we have had in a very long time. He averaged 1 catch per game his Sr. year. He averaged .5 catches per game his Jr. and So. years. He had 2TDs in both his So. & Jr. campaigns with 4TDs his Sr. year. Apon had 14 catches his Sr. year, compared to Dexter Hermon the following year who had 30, but only 2TDs.

Good things happen when you incorporate your TE and the JMU playoff game was a perfect example of it. Unfortunately, young QBs are much less likely to use their TE than more seasoned QBs. I hope nothing but the best for this Latvian guy, but I am not getting my hopes up for him being utilized as a TE even if he has capable hands.

Despite being the 4th TE on the depth chart at LU, Dominique has managed to hang around the NFL for one reason He is big and fast and does a great job on special teams I don't know that he has ever caught a pass in the NFL Caught less than a handful in college

This. Spot on.

Sly, I can appreciate a good devil's advocate, but DJ (although a good LU TE) is not the best LU has seen in the last 10 years. He may not even be in the top 5.

How'd I get included here 😳
