After a lengthy hiatus, We are back with a look at the other boys in the backfield:

Players Returning:
Todd Macon R-Junior (2) 73 Rushes 303 Yards 8 TDs
Frank "Frankie" Hickson Jr. R-Freshman (4) No 2015 Stats (redshirt)
Carrington Mosley R-Junior (2) No 2015 Stats

Macon is the only returning back who carried the ball in 2015 along with graduates DJ Abnar and Des Rice. Hickson is the son of former Flames assistant coach Frank Hickson Sr. and starred at Heritage High School in Lynchburg where he helped the Pioneers to the state finals. Mosley came from just across campus at Liberty Christian Academy, but has, at least in my view, largely been a disappointment. Macon will be the starter come time to head to Blacksburg but itll be interesting to see how things shake out for the #2 and #3 spots, especially with two more backs coming in and one player converting to RB for 2016 (More on that below)

Players Incoming
Mitchell Lewis 6-0 220 Lbs Auburn, AL Lee-Scott Academy
Didier Moncion 5-8 200 LBs Rustburg, VA Edwin O. Smith HS (Transfer from Manchester CC)
Denvre Daniels 5-10 175 Lbs Dallas, TX Cedar Hill HS

Lewis came on the radar fairly late for the Flames in the recruiting period, but he has what some might call "sneaky speed". Moncion is a JUCO transfer listed from just up the road in Red Devil country, but not much else is known about him. Daniels, a wide receiver last year, is making the switch to the backfield and add some depth to the position. He certainly could fit the DJ Abnar mold as the smaller "lightning" style back in some formations for new OC Joe Dailey.

It got a little confusing about Denvre Daniels as an Incoming player, but was a WR last year ? Either way, great summary, and I expect to see Macon and Daniels get the bulk of the work.

Who do you think will be getting the carries , at least coming out of the spring, who looks to have the inside track ?

I think it'll depend on our running philosophy under Dailey. Macon will probably be the number one. If we go with a "thunder and lightning" type set, Daniels probably will get a lot of work as well. If we go more for power, I could see Hickson getting carries.
