You're missing my point. Last year after that win, you described it as being one of the biggest ever. It was "sexy". And you told people to shut up about Gill & co. Now because of two in-conference losses, your opinion about LAST years win vs. Coastal changed? I'm sorry, but that's silly.

We get it. We are all disappointed in this season. But I think you are allowing your emotions to impact your thinking a little too much if you are doing that much of a 180 about a game that happened LAST YEAR.

Last year's win against Coastal followed by the win against JMU SHOULD have ignited a change in the program. We should now be at the stage where losing to mediocre teams and playing our way out of playoffs is behind us but we aren't. I wouldn't have said those things if I had anticipated us losing to three teams with losing records and not having a chance to win the conference before we've even played Coastal or Charleston Southern. I thought those wins meant we had put losing to poor teams behind us...it's now obvious that we haven't progressed and we're still, "same ole Liberty." No one can anticipate that much mediocrity after the wins from last season.

Unfortunately, I can't see LU having any chance of making the playoffs this year even if we win-out with seven wins (beating CSU and Coastal). The two BSC losses were just too costly. But, I am going to go out on a limb and say that LU will in fact beat both CSU and Coastal. I think Josh & Petey, Chima, Lunsford & Sr's will come ready to play, and will be determined and tenacious to go out with a bang as opposed to a hollow thud.

funny thing is isn't that the same thing that was supposedly said after the G-W loss, before we laid an egg in Monmouth. But alas, I to have picked us to win last two and then let chips fall where they may

You could very well be right on further potentially laying two more eggs! But I think we will pull out these next two wins. Either way ((don't tell Josh)), the season falls short of many team goals, and what many had hoped the season to be. As it has been said before, many should expect LU to win the BSC every year. And rings hollow if we don't.

I'd say it's the opposite. Last year's emotion led people to say and think a lot of things after the Coastal game. Now, after this season, more has been exposed and we see what's real and what was a flash in the pan.

Last year's win against Coastal was the biggest win in our program's history. Losing two games this year that we should not have lost does not change that. That's my point.

You can argue all you want that losing to GW then Monmouth proves we aren't headed where we all thought we were this time last year. That's a valid debate. However, to go back and say last years win against Coastal was not really all that great and we got lucky is just simply ridiculous emotion to me.

It was the biggest win we've ever had. There's no changing that regardless of how bad we've done this year.

However, what we're seeing is that it was more of a fluke than the norm. We all thought it would catapult us to new and better things but it hasn't. Instead of using it as a launch point, we're staring down finishing the season unranked for the third time in three years.

Like basketball where we hoped the NCAA tournament run would be the catalyst for future success, it was proven to be a fluke. That's what many of us are starting to think last year's playoff run was.

It isn't two losses...it's three losses (SIU). And in two of those games, we were beat by two possessions or more. I can handle one loss to a bad program or a close game...every once in a while. But this is three losses...to bad teams...and two of the games weren't close. After what happened last year, this is absolutely unacceptable. My point is that this season is uncovering what was hidden beneath a blocked field goal.

I'm guessing a loss at Chuck and win at home against Coastal.
Charleston Southern is better than Coastal, and a lot of pride, hopefully, will be on the line against Coastal.

Though we have not had a convincing win all year (DSU win was not convincing considering how awful they are) I still have us eking out two more wins both by less than 10 points. Cherry Kool Aid is my favorite especially when you put it in the ice cube trays :koolaid
