A box full of Gold Star coneys was our family tradition after church on Wednesdays back in the day. I used to love Empress coneys but I don't believe they are in business these days. Having lived in Texas for a quarter century now, my tongue is not as refined to the differences between the two. I still have collectable Pete Rose Gold Star glasses in my cupboard.

Used to eat at the Skyline in Ashland all the time. They went out and a Gold Star went in, and we haven't been back. Wish we had a bit more of the 'burg's restaurant variety around here.

I get tired of Fred's. Haven't had decent food around here since Rockwell's went out in Wheelersburg. This is the only town I can think of that could close a Larossa's.

They were our go-to on Mondays -- all you could eat spaghetti for $5, with $.99 kids meals ALSO all they could eat. I loved that place, then it just suddenly shut down. Can't keep a decent place open around here anymore.

I'm guessing Mrs. Perry's Bounty Table Smorgasboard is long gone. I actually just had to hold some dates in March near Ashland, KY. If it works out, I'll see how Fred's is faring these days and score some Cincy Chili along the way.
